About the Author



David Jacksons training includes graduate studies in Corrections, Social Work, Education, Psychology and Law. His professional career spans over forty years, beginning at the Menninger Clinic in Topeka, Kansas, where he began as a Recreational Therapist working with emotionally disturbed children.

Moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma he accepted a position as Probation Officer in that juvenile court, where he developed the first group counseling program for juvenile probationers in the United States. He was promoted to Director of Court Services and spent two years as Adjunct Juvenile Judge. When he left the court he was appointed Executive Director of the Tulsa County Mental Health Association, where he developed the first Crisis Center in the Midwest. Upon accepting the position of Assistant Juvenile Probation Officer in the Tarrant County Juvenile Court in Fort Worth, Texas, he developed the first Intensive Probation Unit in the state.

After leaving the court, Mr. Jackson became the CEO of the Fort Worth Boys Club where he was influential in the integration of girls into the program at the same time that the Boys and Girls Clubs of America merged nationally. He currently resides with his wife Sharon on their farm at Lawson, Missouri.
