Purpose: The purpose is to provide extensive background in the area of oral biology, but the book also strives to integrate the clinical aspects of dentistry with basic science information.
Audience: The audience includes dental students as well as dental professional program graduates. In addition, the book can be used by those who need to take competency examinations or update their background knowledge in this area. The authors are well established in the field.
Features: The book is divided into the four areas of orofacial structures, dental embryology, dental histology, and dental anatomy. Specifically, development, cellular makeup, tooth morphology and associated structures are covered. The best features of the book are the photographs, illustrations, and histology images.
