About the Author

Dr. Aditya Bardia is currently a Medical Oncology Fellow at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center (Johns Hopkins University). He did his medical school training at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi, India), the premier medical school in Southeast Asia. He then pursued MPH training at the University of Iowa. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and completed his residency training at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Bardia’s research interests are to study and develop novel therapies, including complementary therapies, to help and support patients with cancer. He has published several articles and book chapters on the topic.'He chose a career in Medical Oncology as he believes it perfectly matches his idea of listening carefully to patients, and thereby understanding and supporting them through the treatment and healing process.

Dr. Eric Seifter is an Associate Professor of Medicine and Oncology and has cared for patients as a medical oncologist with a focus on hematologic malignancies since 1987. After completing undergraduate and medical studies at the University of Pennsylvania, he pursued his medical residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and his fellowship at the National Cancer Institute at the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Seifter’s interest in investigating and treating patients with lymphoma was sparked by his close friendship with a colleague, Dr. Lawrence Sigman, who battled Hodgkin’s lymphoma several times, but ultimately succumbed to complications of treatment. Since then, he has dedicated his career to the care and education of those afflicted with these diseases. He has also dedicated himself to the education of medical students, residents, and fellows, who, in the near future, will uncover new therapeutic options to enhance the cure and quality of life for all patients.
