As a child, did you love coloring?

Magic Christmas can help!

What you can expect from Magic Christmas

A Delightful Theme
The theme of this coloring book is the magic of Christmas and Santa Claus, as told through the classic poem A Visit from St. Nicholas, better known as 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. It was first published in December of 1823, and the authorship is a bit of a mystery - kind of like Santa!

Mystery & Magic
"Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus," wrote eight-year-old Virginia O'Hanlon of New York City to The New York Sun in 1897. "Please tell me the truth: is there a Santa Claus?" The paper responded in the most timeless, pro-Santa way imaginable: "Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that's no proof that they are not there...The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see." Like Santa. For a Santa-free world would lack the poetry, faith, romance and love we all need to see beyond the merely mundane. "How dreary would the world be if there were no Santa Claus," continues The Sun, "as dreary as if there were no Virginias...Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus."

Fun Variety
In honor of all the myriad imaginative ways we love to depict Santa, Magic Christmas includes a variety of illustration styles. Some are très traditional and others more of-the-moment. But they all have one thing in common: what they need to bring this poem to life is color-color-color!

Single-Sided Pages
When images are printed on both sides of a page, colors can bleed through. Which means that markers, sharpies and gel pens are out of the question. Sure colored pencils are great...but so are markers, sharpies & gel pens! Magic Christmas loves all the coloring tools which is why it's printed single-sided.

Larger Size
Pocket-size books are nifty, but if the images to be colored get too small, the lines start to almost run together. In order to avoid infuriating your inner colorer, Magic Christmas is a roomy & Santa-approved 8.5" x 11".

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Tenley Summer is a longtime writer who currently calls Oregon home. Along with the magic of coloring, she loves tall tales about historical figures, documentaries about World War II dogfights, coloring large chunks of her hair bright purple - and generally doing her best to keep Portland weird.

About the Author

Tenley Summer is a longtime writer and author of several non-fiction books. She grew up in Hong Kong and has lived in New York City, Vermont and Miami Beach. Plus meandered through several wanderlust-driven years along the way. Her adventures have included checking out Tasmania in a funky old jalopy; camping along the Inca Trail during the rainy season (soaking tent, anyone?); worrying about bandits on the night-train from Moscow to Saint Petersburg; exploring the Ephesus ruins in Turkey; crisscrossing Burma collecting Buddha imagery and statues in a compulsive, completely non-Buddha-like manner; camel-riding in Morocco; marveling at lava flowing down the side of the Stromboli volcano; and indulging in too much deliciousness in Paris. She also spent time teaching in Romania, Kazakhstan and Latvia. She calls Oregon home...for the moment. Along with stories about Santa and Christmas cheer, she loves good books, staying sober, documentaries about World War II dogfights, coloring large chunks of her hair bright purple, and doing her best to keep Portland weird.
