Everyone loves a good tango, but relatively few Americans know what a milonga is, and this passionate album is a good start in correcting that sorry state. Like the tango, the milonga originated in Argentina, and this lively, African-influenced form of music and dance has gone in and out of style in South America over the latter 20th century. Classically trained guitarist Alfredo Fernando brings both technique and heat to the music.
