As the night sky spreads out over the Ikisayo Province a chilling whistle cuts through the cold air sending shivers down the spines of sentries standing guard. Unnerving cries echo throughout the night and strange shapes are seen moving about in the darkness. One of the young guards notices the piercing gaze of a blazing eye belonging to a large creature stalking the outskirts of the village and bravely rides out to investigate never to be seen again. As more and more people vanish and the strange occurrences multiply, Cuauhtleko (Rising Eagle) and his best friend Itztekuanotzin (Obsidian Bear) find themselves face to face with a sinister evil intent on engulfing not only their region but the entire country. Cuauhtleko and his friends prepare themselves to combat the rise of malevolent enemies even as they struggle to overcome the darkness of their own pasts. With the evil near at hand and the lives of his loved ones in mortal peril an ancient power begins to awaken within Cuauhtleko but... will he choose to embrace it and if so, will he master it in time?A must read for fans of adventure books with a touch of suspense that readers of horror stories will enjoy as well.
