Firmly planting post-industrial, gothic darkwave music in the 21st century, Germany's Diary of Dreams returns with its ninth album of mood-enhancing bliss. The follow-up to 2007's NEKROLOG 43, Diary of Dreams' latest, (IF), is an odyssey of sound and emotion. Led by electronic music composer Adrian Hates, the band's music has become even more complex and passionate as it progresses, and (IF) is a standout achievement, harnessing the emotional tension of the Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim with the riveting electronica of Clan of Xymox and KMFDM.
