About the Author

Anna Kruger is a writer and editor who focuses on plants and gardening, publishing frequently with Dorling Kindersley. Her titles include An Illustrated Guide to Herbs: Their Medicine and Magic, American Horticulture Society Plants for Places, Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening, and H Is for Ecohome: An A-Z Guide to a Healthy, Planet-Friendly Household.

Maria Rodale is the chairman and CEO of Rodale, Inc., a major family-owned publisher of health and lifestyle books and magazines. She also runs an advice blog called Maria's Farm Country Kitchen, and has authored several books on organic cooking and gardening. Maria has been awarded the Rachel Carson Award by the National Audubon Society, the Award for the Health and Dignity of Women by the United Nations Population Fund, and the International Quality of Life Award by Auburn University. When she's not attending to her numerous business and charity ventures, Maria enjoys romance novels and yoga.

Pauline Pears is an organic gardening expert who helped pioneer the movement in the late 1970s. She is the longest-serving member of the British charity organization Garden Organic, and gives talks and presentations on organic gardening techniques. She has written several books on the subject, including The Organic Book of Compost, Your Organic Allotment, and All About Compost: Recycling Household and Garden Waste.
