From the moment a pregnancy is first confirmed, the event is filled with great hopes, dreams, and expectations by the prospective parents and their friends and families. In the majority of pregnancies, nature progresses without complications and results in a healthy outcome for both mother and baby. However, childbirth has never been a quick or easy process. During the years that I was an obstetrician, I always tried to let labor proceed as naturally as possible, but I was also immediately available to treat any complication that can occur prenatally or during labor and delivery.
