Susan Branch is the American author of the thirteen HEART OF THE HOME lifestyle books (with her new two-book memoir, there will be fifteen). There are over four million books in print, all of them homemade, hand-written, and watercolored ~ books about the home arts of cooking, gardening, homemaking, family, best friends, entertaining and the little things that make life sweet. Susan has also been designing best-selling calendars since 1993 and has licensed her art and design to many other things, from dishes to fabric to hooked rugs.
Born and raised in Southern California, Susan followed her heart to the island of Martha's Vineyard in her 30s, "unable to live any longer without four seasons and picket fences as everyday architecture." She shares her 1849 Captain's home with her two kitties, Jack and Girl, and Joe Hall, "the man of her dreams."
