Upon graduation from high school, Debbie Van Buren's life came crashing down when her dear mother passed away, when she escaped from the clutches of her lecherous stepfather and when her money was stolen. While entertaining one afternoon, Edith Balmer's luncheon guests encouraged her to enlighten them about three mysterious deaths that occurred at the turn of the century in her rural area of Pennsylvania. She finally relented and described mysterious deaths, unexpected inheritances, steamy sex, love affairs, constables, mountain shacks, a hidden still, a devastating fire, and wonderful charismatic down home folks. Jenny D. Beard was born and reared in rural Northeastern Ohio, and finds it rewarding to write about country settings and down to earth folks. She and her husband are the parents of four adult children. Jenny is a member of the prestigious Florida Writers Association, the Writers League of the Villages and Twin Pages Group. She retired from the Columbus Division of Amerisource Corporation, where she worked in accounting. Jenny and her husband now live in central Florida.
