About the Author

Carol Belcastro was inspired by true events to write the story of how she found her beloved pet Pumpkin. As an elementary school teacher for over twenty-six years, Carol shares in the joy of children's literature and sees firsthand how it can inspire students. Carol resides in Atlanta, Georgia near her daughters, happy cats, and her mother, Renee Burke, the illustrator.

Renee Burke has enjoyed painting with watercolors for most of her life. Renee's collection of work varies from paintings of beautiful scenery to still life portraits. Renee resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Pumpkin: The real-life Pumpkin brought so much joy, laughter, love, and companionship to Carol and her daughters for over eighteen and a half years.
