Overview

Thomas Flynn is a legendary swordsman and compulsive barroom brawler with a fearsome reputation and wise-cracking sense of humour. He works as a doorman at the Lazy Rat, a rough and tumble inn with a violent clientele, where beer-soaked free-for-alls are the nightly event. When he is seduced to a new inn with an even worse reputation - the Dog and Duck - he is seriously hurt in a duel, but patched up by a beautiful female healer who falls madly in love with him. Unfortunately the young woman has another suitor, an evil murdering thug who rules Nottingham with an iron hand. When Thomas' close friend is murdered, he finds a new purpose in life: to restore order where there is none. But as, one by one, he rids Nottingham of thugs, thieves and murderers; he incurs the wrath of their employer - the notorious baron, Ozhan.

About the Author

Michael Siddall was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England,
and his aspirations to become a novel writer began after devising the board game: 'A Challenge of the Gods'.
Educated at Newfield School in Sheffield, he left with exemplary grades in his final exams and went on to Granville College where he studied Art and Design, Literature and History. Times were hard and he left to become a carpet fitter.

As a child of nine Michael contracted Rheumatic
Fever, spending a whole year in the Northern General
Hospital laid flat on his back for the first six months and in a wheelchair for the following six. To occupy himself he wrote his first short stories and poems and has continued to write every day of his life since.

He was told that as a consequence of his illness he would have a weak heart and spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Michael proved the specialists wrong. Not only did he walk again; he joined the army and became a Physical
Training Instructor in the R.E.M.E., stationed at Borden in
Hampshire with a heart as strong as a lion. He also holds the rank of 5th Dan Black Belt with instructor status in three different styles of martial arts - Shotokan Karate, Aikido and Korean Kempo.
A writer since school, he has written several novels of varying length, 'The Blackhawks Impossible Quest' being his first serious attempt at fantasy novel writing after completing a creative writing course. He has also written the Time Travel novels 'All the Time in the World' and 'Time and Time Again', besides the trilogy 'A Violent Man', and a short novella entitled: 'The Book, the Wand, the Magic'. He still resides in Sheffield where he ice skates almost every day at Ice Sheffield and teaches his friends Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts. He dresses like a cowboy for Cosplay Conventions whenever he can.
