The trail leads Lacey to a ring of vicious drug dealers and suddenly she's in way over her head—right smack in the middle of a SWAT stakeout.

Alex and Remy were werewolves but also SWAT officers. Remy, Max, Alex, and Jayden were all werewolves - the whole SWAt team was- working with Sergeant Rodriguez of the Dallas Police narcotics division for nearly three weeks trying to catch the dealers selling a new designer drug called fireball. Fireball had killed eight people in the last month. Fireball was very addicting. Gage was the alpha of their werewolf pack and quickly agreed to help to help Sergeant Rodriguez. Alex and the rest of the swat team had adopted a pit mix dog they had rescued who had required a lot to be brought back to good health. Tuffie had been used as a fighting dog in dog fights and had barely survived when a man who died trying to protect her. So the Swat team all took care of her, There was a new vet - Lacey Barton - today when Alex took Tuffie for her checkup. Alex was quite taken with her. Alex could not remember ever having such a strong and immediate reaction to a woman he had just met Alex had went through the change three years ago he would have died otherwise Kelsey was Lacey’s sister and they shared an apartment. Lacey had basically raised Kelsey since Lacey was twelve. Kelsey was studying to be a nurse. Lacey had never been in a long term relationship because she simply didn’t trust men. Alex was a serious man at heart but Lacey made him happy and Alex smiled more now. Alex asked Lacey out but she always politely declined. Then he showed up and volunteered with Lacey and she told Alex he would go out with him. Lacey and Alex had fun on their dates. Lacey told Alex how she had seen her mother commit suicide. Kelsey was ten when their mother died Alec and the team had caught some dealers who sold fireball. But there was an incident at the college and it involved fireball so there was other dealers out there. Also there were hunters out there they killed werewolves. Alec and Lacey were at a small club when Alex spotted two werewolves on the stage.Alex went up to talk to them. They explained they moved to Dallas to be safe with their family. They were running from hunters who were stepping up their game to find and kill werewolves. Lacey wondered why Alex had been single o long as she thought he was perfect. Then lacey gets herself in trouble and as Alex rescues her Lacey sees Alex change and thinks he is a monster and won’t let him explain. I loved this story , It made me sad that Alex and Lacey both had to hurt so bad until Kelsey came up missing and she asked Alex for help and she started to accept who and what he was. I also loved the fact Alec and his brother werewolves were right there to help her about her sister no matter how she felt. Even if Alex and the other Swat team got in trouble they were determined to find Kelsey. I didn’t want to put this book down it kept attention from beginning to end. I just loved it one of my new favorite books. I loved the plot and the characters. I loved the ins and outs of the story andI highly recommend.

Paige Tyler has done it again in "Wolf Unleashed(SWAT Book 5)". I love all the stories of the werewolf swat team, with each book giving us a great story of a member of the swat team and then finding their HEA. It always enhances the storyline when we get to see many of the other members making their appearances as well. It was like seeing some old friends you have not seen in awhile. Alex, a member of the team, showed a bit of vulnerability about his not being able to have a full shift. It was great seeing him go thru the learning process of his werewolf abilities. Alex also finds 'The One' in Lacey, but she is a bit stubborn and a spitfire that gets herself in trouble with complications for all involved. The story of Alex and Lacey was well developed, fun, suspenseful and of course romantic. As always, a stand alone book, I encourage you pick this one up if you love this genre. Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for gifting me "Wolf Unleashed" and asking for my honest opinion. This is mine. 5 Stars!

REVIEW: WOLF UNLEASHED (SWAT, #5) by Paige Tyler Publication Date: December 6, 2016 Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated 5 Stars I loved this installment of the SWAT series. The group’s dynamics are fun and their camaraderie makes me wish I were a part of it all. Alex was sexy, smooth and alpha; but still so real that you feel that connection. Lacey was the perfect match for him, even though I groaned at a few things she did. I was a bit nervous about the serial killer aspect, afraid it would overpower the storyline, thankfully the team member’s banter and the sizzling Alex/Lacey romance balanced it out well. This was one of those exciting stories that I had to read straight through just to see what happens. *Review copy provided NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! The cover is a work of art! This is the 5th book in the series, but the first one I’ve read. I’m doing this backwards because I own all of the other books. I’m definitely going to go back and read these maybe during Christmas break. This book is for adults only due to the steamy scenes. Lacey is a veterinarian who has trust issues with men. Alex is definitely an Alpha, but he has a sweet side that shows often. Lots of bad things happening around town drugs, dog fighting, and missing girls. This book is action packed! I loved every moment of reading it and can’t wait to read the rest of them. Paige’s words bring the story to life in my mind as I’m reading. I highly recommend if you love shifters and Alpha men who come to the rescue, then you definitely want to read this book and probably the whole series!

Wolf Unleashed is the fifth book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series. You do not need to have read the other books to enjoy this one but I believe that the additional background gained from the other books would enhance your enjoyment of this one. Plus, there is a common theme throughout all of the books that you wouldn’t totally understand unless you read the other books. Wolf Unleashed is about SWAT team member and werewolf Alex Trevino. He meets Veterinarian Dr. Lacey Barton and his entire world turns upside down. Lacey has a lot of baggage due to the bad example that her parents set for her when she was younger. Consequently, although there is a definite attraction between them, Lacey plays hard to get. Unfortunately for Alex, Lacey is “The One” which means that according to Werewolf legend, they are destined to be together. To add insult to injury, Alex is also knee deep in an investigation into a dangerous designer drug that has been ravaging the city. Meanwhile, Lacey has gotten herself involved in trying to expose a deadly dogfighting ring. Unbeknownst to them, their professional worlds will collide with their private ones and cause an unexpected strain in their relationship. Alex and Lacey’s relationship may start out a little icy but once they get together, things heat up substantially. Their time between the sheets is X-Rated and sure to get you a little hot under the collar. They make for a great couple except for the one little detail about Alex being a real life werewolf. More importantly, his whole team is comprised of werewolves. When Alex’s secret is revealed, things become complicated and that’s the part that turns me off about the book. In every one of these books where one person is not a werewolf, the werewolf never gets the opportunity to be honest and reveal his secret before something happens that forces them to be exposed to their mate. Then, there is the expected part of horror and feelings of betrayal that ensue. I would just like to see a different scenario play out in the next book so that I can truly be surprised by the interaction. Again, I really like the books. Wolf Unleashed has an interesting scene where Alex ends up doing a lot of fighting while he is totally naked which I thought was crazy and kind of cool. The SWAT team likes to keep things interesting. I look forward to the next book. **Received a book copy from Sourcebook Casablanca and voluntarily reviewed.**

Animal lovers will have their hearts tugged in this latest book. There is a lot going on through out this book and a new threat to Beta and Omega wolfs is introduced. I love how at the start of each of these books we are shown how the each of the SWAT team came to be noticed by Gage and asked to join the SWAT team. Alex Trevino had served in the military and then came back to be a cop in Rochester, NY where he walked into a grisly home invasion that would have taken his life is not for his special abilities. Years later he is in Dallas working for SWAT and starting to feel melancholy over his senses not being as strong as some of the other shifters. He also doesnt know how he feels about a lot of his team mates finding their “one”. Its on a routine visit to the vet for the team's mascot dog that the new vet has him feeling something he'd never thought he'd feel. Lacey Barton doesnt date. She had crappy parents and ended up having to raise her younger sister while putting herself through college to become a Veterinarian. Now her sister is in college and she has a job she loves and has no time for men nor does she believe in relationships. Poor Alex has a very hard time getting Lacey to go out with him. Along with the relationship aspect of the story there are a lot of side stories. A new drug called Fireball is out on the street killing many. There is also a dog fighting ring – (this is something I've never understood – what kind of sick people get enjoyment out of watching two animals tear each other apart). Along with those two things girls from the college are also going missing. Not giving any spoilers but all of those things end up having a common denominator. In the previous book we found out that there are hunters whose “job” for years were to kill werewolves. In this book we find out that there in the US and have been tracking and killing the Beta and Omega's. This piece looks to be a thread that will be continued in future books.

Hunky cops that just happen to be werewolves, there are so many places that can take us and in this series Paige Tyler is exploring each one. In Wolf Unleashed werewolf Alex Trevino finds his One in veterinarian Lacey Barton. He is going to have a tough time of it though because Lacey doesn’t trust men. Plus he and the guys are trying to bring down a drug ring when they stumble across an organ harvesting operation and then there is the dog fighting ring. Alex isn’t going to have the time to woo her but he will give it his all. This book is a speeding freight train of action, adventure and love. Strap in and enjoy.

Wolf Unleashed by Paige Tyler is the 5th book in her fantastic SWAT (Special Wolf Alpha Team) series. I love this series, as Tyler continues to give us an exciting story, as well as a great couple. Alex Trevino is our hero, another one of the elite members of the SWAT team, and a werewolf. Alex has watched many of his teammates find their mate (“the One”), but he hasn’t dated much, keeping busy with learning to improve his abilities (sniffing and to finally do a full shift). In the last book, we met Tuffie, their rescue dog, who is now the team mascot. Alex makes sure he takes Tuffie to the vet often, and meets the new vet, who is on call that day. Alex can’t take his eyes off of her, and before he leaves asks her out to dinner, which she rejects. Lacey Barton loves her job, but also works part time helping the police with injured dogs from a dog fighting ring they are trying to stop. Lacey doesn’t date, being too busy with working long hours to pay the bills for her and her sister. She also has trust issues, which is part of her bad childhood, which forced her to care for her sister at a very young age. After many attempts by Alex, whom she is attracted to, she finally gives in to a date. What follows is a slow build relationship that will become a scorching romance. But both have their own issues that could hurt a long term relationship. Alex knows that Lacey is the “One”, but fears he will lose her once she finds out he is a werewolf. There a few side stories going on, such as a drug that is killing people; a dog fighting ring; and missing college girls. The story becomes very exciting in an action packed last half of the book, that will tie together. Alex’s worst fears concerning Lacey come true, when he is forced to reveal himself to save her life. The danger also accelerates when Lacey’s sister is kidnapped, adding on to the number of missing girls. Together, Alex, Lacey and all the SWAT team will work against the powerful people involved to expose the drug trafficking and why the girls are missing. The pulse pounding action will have us holding our breaths in this suspenseful climatic finish. I loved Alex and Lacey together, as they both worked to overcome their past and current issues. I enjoyed the added element of Lacey being a veterinarian, and seeing Tuffie, the Swat team mascot, and also Lacey’s dog. Paige Tyler once again gives us a fantastic exciting, suspenseful and enjoyable story, with another great couple. As I noted earlier, I love this series, and I wholly recommend you to start reading this from the beginning. So much fun.

Paige Tyler really did it this time! Drug dealers, dog fighting, and kidnappings make up the basis for story in WOLF UNLEASHED, and it is fantastic! This is a real suspense with a fabulous, tightly woven plot, breathtaking shifter scenes, and a hero to die for! Alex Trevino is your regular nice guy, except of course that he’s a werewolf, and not a very good one at that, until he has to. And wow, what happens when he gets it together will blow you away: those are just amazing paranormal scenes, and I love how Ms. Tyler makes it look so authentic. There are so many great moments in WOLF UNLEASHED; I think this is the best SWAT book so far, and this is saying quite a lot. Ms. Tyler’s writing is so transparent that I didn’t feel for one moment that I was reading a book of fiction; I was simply transported in Alex and Lacey’s world. I did not “read” one sentence, I “experienced” it all, and that is rare and wonderful! Alex and Lacey is great characters, and a great couple, and I loved how the romance progressed: Lacey is quite skittish, but her love of animals – especially dogs – gets her in trouble, but it also brings her and Alex together. They really bond over things that matter; theirs is not a superficial romance, and it was so nice. There is also the Southern beau, Remy Boudreaux, whose teasing and flirtatious banter provides an occasional breather from the high-intensity action, and WOLD UNLEASHED is intense, and the moment when Lacey understands that Alex is a werewolf is unforgettable and mesmerising. WOLF UNLEASHED is exciting, thrilling, very fast-paced, and a bit scary at times, because it also feels very real. WOLF UNLEASHED is another brilliant book by the ever awesome Paige Tyler! Paige Tyler’s A Wolf Unleashed has become my favorite book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series. Wolf shifter Alex Trevino meets veterinarian Lacey Barton when he takes the teams dog, Tuffie, in for appointment. He is instantly attracted to Lacey but finds that it is a challenge to get her to go out with him. Then Lacey younger sister, Kelsey, goes missing, and she turns to Alex for help. This contemporary PNR takes place in Dallas. It is suitable for adult audiences. I love animals, so I instantly fell in love with both animal loving characters. Alex is a great guy. Not only is he SWAT, but he is a licensed paramedic. He is selfless and brave. He has had trouble controlling his wolf and could only partially shift. I like that his wolf evolves in this story. He is creative and comes up with the perfect dates. I love how canines respond to him, especially Ralph. Lacey is an admirable heroine. She is a feisty and courageous. I appreciate that she helps the Dallas police department’s Animal Cruelty Squad with injured and abused animals. She is fierce when it comes to protecting animals and the ones she loves. Lacey doesn’t make it easy on Alex. However, the two are the perfect couple. I enjoyed the plot. There were a lot of different components, especially with the criminal cases. I valued how everything fit together. I think it is great that the SWAT team, and their significant others are like family. I like how Paige Tyler always includes a prologue with the accident that causes the main character to turn into a werewolf. I love Paige Tyler’s SWAT series; A Wolf Unleashed was a perfect addition. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
