About the Author

M Manjaiah is an Assistant Professor at the Dept of Mechanical Engineering of NIT Warangal, India. His research interests include additive manufacturing, surface engineering, welding, and advanced machining. He also lectures students in a wide range of engineering subjects, and has extensive industrial expertise working with partners including Naval Group, Stelia, and Renault.

K Raghavendra is an Associate Professor at the Centre for Incubation, Innovation, Research, and Consultancy of Jyothy Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, India. His research focus is on non-conventional machining.

N Balashanmugam is Joint Director of the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bengaluru, India. His work focuses on ways of helping heavy industry to adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by digital transformation, with particular emphasis on manufacturing.

Prof. (Dr.) J. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, with over 35 years of experience in Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial Engineering. He holds multiple distinguished academic titles, including a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a DSc from London Metropolitan University. He has published over 300 books and 600 articles, with more than 36,500 citations. He is ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University and holds leadership positions in numerous international journals, conferences, and research projects.
