Part of this involves reflecting on my own journey of acculturation in America so as to share with you what I now know, that I didn't know, when I was new in America.

The knowledge I share with you in this book has contributed immensely not only to my own personal success in America but with others that i have shared with and have implemented these strategies . I will also share with you some important nuggets of wisdom that other immigrants have discovered in the course of their immigration journey. My aim in sharing and passing on this important information is to help make your life easier while you are settling down in the United States of America. This is my contribution in helping you as you battle what I call "The Beast of Integration."

About the Author

Joe is a multi-lingual transformational practitioner. He holds a master’s degree in social work.

As a life skill coach, counselor, and a licensed chaplain Joe’s mission is to help others become conscious of their entrapment and empower them so they can find freedom and joy in life. He is passionate about helping people cope and grow through their experiences in life-changing circumstances.

His past roles include: Re-entry Coordinator with the State of Iowa’s Psychiatric Forensic Hospital and a Mental Health Coordinator at Veteran's Affairs Department (VA), among others.

Joe is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary. He is the author of five books including HOW TO RISE ABOVE RACISM: A PRIMER FOR UNDERSTANDING THE BROADER RAMIFICATIONS OF IMPLICIT BIAS and BROKEN JUSTICE: WHEN LAWLESS GANGS CAPTURE THE STATE which he wrote to strengthen and educate communities that are riddled with racism, discrimination, corruption and social injustice.
