Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture’s, 2006-2020 monograph showcases the spectacular work of the firm from the first 15 years of its practice through drawings, renderings, model photography, photography of built work, competition entries, exhibition materials, master plans, interiors, and special research projects and publications.

The projects featured in the monograph cover a wide variety of AS+GG’s high-performance, energy-efficient, aesthetically striking architecture on an international scale in a wide range of typologies and scales, from low- and mid-rise residential, commercial, and cultural buildings, to mixed-use supertall towers. Projects explored include supertall towers, large-scale mixed-use complexes, corporate offices, exhibition facilities, cultural facilities and museums, civic and public spaces, hotels and residential complexes, institutional projects, and high-tech laboratory facilities.

About the Author

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture’s Partners Adrian Smith, Gordon Gill, and Robert Forest are globally recognized as leaders in the profession of architecture. They have presented at dozens of international industry events and conferences; and have lectured at universities across the world. Their works have been exhibited at the Skyscraper Museum and the Center for Architecture, both in New York, the Chicago Architecture Center, Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago. Their drawings and sketches can be found in the permanent collections of the Art Institute Chicago and the V&A Museum in London.

Projects under their direction have been awarded more than 150 design awards including dozens of international design and sustainability awards, nine National AlA awards, 35 Illinois AIA and Chicago AIA awards, and three ULI Awards for Excellence, as well as several Progressive Architecture Design Awards. Adrian, Gordon, and Bob’s work has been featured hundreds of publications including pieces in Architectural Record, Architect Magazine, Architectural Digest, the Architect’s Newspaper, Chicago Magazine, the New York Times, Popular Science, and Wallpaper.
