Purpose: The book highlights the significant evolution of alcoholism research over the past decade. It focuses on the effects of gender upon the etiology, development course, treatment, and consequences of alcoholism in females.
Audience: It is targeted for physicians, clinicians, and researchers in addiction medicine. It is also an excellent book for any individual who requires recent information on this important topic. The editor is extensively published and well respected in the field. The various authors, a large number of whom are women, are all experts in there area.
Features: The text is somewhat underillustrated with few tables or charts. Those that are available are appropriate and helpful. The references are extensive, relevant, and up-to-date.
