About the Author

Andrew P. Garrett holds degrees in Economics, Finance, and Medicine. He currently lives on his own version of Amodom Holt in the New England woods.

Just as in the book, the author's home is completely off-grid. He and his wife keep chickens. They hunt, grow food in the garden and the walipini, and manage fruit trees for food. He even admits he can see grid-lines where there are no grid-lines. But unlike the book, the author's home contains only a small pond and two equally small waterfalls, not the multi-acre lake and meters-high waterfall of Amodom Holt. And most emphatically, no WRAPping occurs at the author's home in the woods.

When he is not writing about Amodom Holt, managing the property, or collecting food, the author works as a physician specializing in Internal Medicine. He shares a practice with his wife of more than twenty-five years, Marjorie.
