About the Author

Najma Dharani holds a PhD in Plant and Environmental Ecology. Her specialization and research interest is Natural Resource Management and Conservation, in the field of Ethnobotany and Reforestation. She works at the World Agroforestry Centre in Nairobi as a Consultant and is the author of the successful guide Field Guide to Acacias of East Africa.

Abiy Yenesew has a PhD degree in Chemistry. Currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the University of Nairobi in Kenya, his principal research interest is in the phytochemistry and biological activities of medicinal plants in East Africa. He is also a programme officer for the Natural Product Research Network for Eastern and Central Africa (NAPRECA).
