In addition to updates and revisions, it contains six new chapters covering laparoscopic general surgery and laparoscopic obstetric/gynecologic surgery, plus a host of out-of-OR procedures), and about 70 new surgical procedures (such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and surgery for sleep disorders), Five new appendices provide protocols for adult and pediatric pain management, as well as preoperative evaluation and testing.
