Angelos Painting

Angelos is widely known as a painter for his Still Lifes and his Doves which have earned him a place among Greece's most significant postmodern artists. Having settled in the village of Kapandriti on Mount Helicon in Attica in the early 1980s, embarked on a successful career with solo and group exhibitions in Greece, England and the United States. This nongraph by professor Yannis Kolokotronis, a prominent scholar and researcher of Greek art and aartists, is divided into eight extensive chapters (on still life, the nude, motherhood, family, philosophy, passion) and is richly illustrated with 200 of Angelos' paintings, often full-size. An introductory note by professor Stelios Lydakis dmonstrates the talent of the artist as well as the broad influence of this work on contemporary representational art.
