Another Beginning...or the beginning of the end
In this fifth book, the saga continues for Candy and Alec as they go their separate ways and try to rebuild their lives.

Alec buried himself in work trying to forget Candy and Zaccariah, but he knew he couldn't do that forever. What he hadn't anticipated was a brief, chance encounter laying the groundwork for a possibly flourishing relationship. He knew Candy wasn't coming back to The Talandric, so why shouldn't he start a new relationship?

On the rare occasion that Candy thought about retiring from the military, she thought about spending time with her family and twin sons on Earth. She had never imagined being cut off from everyone and settling on a world that wasn't Earth, but that's exactly what she was doing. Would she be able to settle into a civilian lifestyle?

For as long as Candy could remember, she had been fighting in one way or another. Violence was her life. She didn't know anything else. It was time she learned to stop fighting because it wasn't just her life on the line anymore. She had a son, Zaccariah, and she was carrying twins. Her children deserved a better life than what she had on Earth and living on Talandria would give them a better life.

Those were the arguments Candy used to make her decision to leave The Battlecruiser Talandric and to leave Alec. It was a heartbreaking decision to make. She wondered if she would ever see Alec again. Did Alec miss her as much as she missed him? Would he ever visit when he took his two weeks leave?

It was time to push her heartache aside and start a new chapter of her life again. This chapter of her life was untested territory for her. It was time to see what side of her won out: civilian or military.
