About the Author

I’m Sema Martin, a full-time pet portrait artist, and author. In 2016, I took the leap and left my career as a NASA engineer to pursue my passion for art. I had the basics of drawing down and started getting commissions but I didn’t know how to build it into a career that could rival the one I left behind. Now, 5 years later, I have a thriving international pet portrait business that provides for me and my family in the French Riviera.

My book 'Art is my career - How to start an art business', is written to inspire and show other artists that it is possible to make a career out of doing what you love. I am extremely passionate about the business side of art and now I want to share the knowledge I have gained to help other aspiring artists like you!
