Frankie Corzo narrates this novella about a woman who has been given three wishes. The story is set two years after the end of the world. Marisol, an award-winning playwright and premed student, is portrayed with a careful determination as she meticulously plots her wishes to restore the world and prevent future catastrophe. Richard, previously a theater critic and now a wish-facilitator, is at first depicted in a tone of deadpan exasperation, along with an air of importance conveyed through his precise enunciation. Corzo’s relaxed pacing works smoothly as the story progresses and the two warm up to each other as Marisol works on writing her next play. A perfect listen for anyone looking for a quick dabble in the author’s writing style or in science fiction. A.K.R. © AudioFile 2019, Portland, Maine
