Joe Miller is an outdoors and fitness writer based in Cary, N.C. He produces the outdoor recreation blog http://www.getgoingnc.com/ and is author of 100 Classic Hikes in North Carolina. In addition to being a hiker and backpacker, Miller is an avid cyclist, a skier-turned-snowboarder, a paddler (flat water, mostly), a runner, a certified scuba diver, and the owner of a longboard skateboard, which he rides with the utmost respect.
