Finn is a bored young leprechaun. He lives with his mum and dad in a small village named Duntappin, and goes to the local school there. He spends most of his free time with his best friend Dallan, but craves some excitement in his life. Unfortunately, Finn missed out on being blessed by the Good Luck Fairy and soon gets far more than he bargained for. He finds himself a long way from home in the hands of a travelling circus where he is little more than a ‘freak’ to amuse the customers.

About the Author
I am an author who lives in a lovely countryside area in the north west of England and works as a data analyst for one of the local Health Authorities. I write under the name of Lynne North. I have been a prolific reader all my life, and for many years have spent most of my free time writing. As well as being educated up to degree level, I have completed courses and received diplomas from ‘The Writing School Ltd’ and ‘The Academy of Children’s Writers’. My aim in life has always been to write, and I had a sideline of freelance writing for more years than I like to admit to having lived. In earlier days this mainly involved published articles in such magazines as ‘Prediction’. I had two children’s novels ‘Gertie Gets it Right (eventually)’ and ‘Zac’s Destiny’ published by ‘YouWriteOn’, the writers’ site sponsored by the British Arts Council, in 2008. The covers provided were pretty awful, so I carried on seeking a good publisher. ‘Caution: Witch in Progress’, a rewrite of ‘Gertie’, was published by Ghostly Publishing in 2013 and launched at Earl’s Court Book Fair in London. Though my publisher ceased to publish in 2014, I have kept ‘Caution’ out on Kindle on Amazon worldwide. I also had two other books due to be published by Ghostly before Christmas 2014. One of them was a rewrite of ‘Zac’s Destiny’ which I have now also released on Kindle under my own publishing name of ‘Crystal Pen Publishing’. I recently released something completely different on Kindle too, a compilation of thirteen macabre Twist in the Tale short stories, definitely NOT for children! In 2015 I was lucky enough to discover Crimson Cloak Publishing and to be taken on as one of their new authors. New books will be coming out in 2016!

Reviewed by Mamta Madhavan for Readers' Favorite Be Careful What You Wish For by Lynne North revolves around Finn, a leprechaun who lives with his parents in Duntappin, a small village. He goes to a local school, but is bored with his life. He enjoyed the company of Dallan Murphy, but he longed to have an exciting life. Things take a turn when one day he is kidnapped and made to be part of the traveling show, Max’s Marvels. Finn is not treated well by Max, the owner, and Finn is terrified of him. On the home front, Finn’s parents discover that he is missing and they try their best to find out where he is. Will Finn be able to escape from Max’s Marvels, the traveling show, and safely get back home to his parents? The story has an excellent message to young readers that asks them to be happy with what they have. Many times children think there is more excitement in the outside world than in the lives they lead and this makes them look out for adventures, like Finn. All the characters are relatable and with a leprechaun being the main character, along with a two-headed dog, the story has a whimsical vibe to it. For all those who love adventure, this book is a fun read and they will love the character of Finn. It is a good bedtime storybook and because it contains a message, it is perfect for parents to read out to their kids. The book can be used for read aloud sessions in classrooms and school libraries as it teaches young readers new things, has a good message, and enhances their vocabulary.
