Declan McGillis can't stand rich people. But working as a deckhand on a luxury charter yacht, he also can't escape them. Declan has spent years kissing their ass and doing their bidding...whatever it takes to make his dreams come true, and nothing will get in his way of being the captain of his own yacht one day.

Mackenzie Armstrong knows what people think when they look at her. She knows from the outside looking in, it seems like her family has it all and doesn't have a care in the world. Things aren't always what they seem, and not only does Mackenzie have the weight of her family's struggles on her shoulders, she also needs to prove to Declan that she's not the spoiled princess he believes her to be.

Declan can't ignore the sparks of lust between them, even though Mackenzie is completely off limits and absolutely out of his league.

Mackenzie thinks a vacation fling is just what she needs to forget about the mess her life has become, and Declan is the perfect man for the job.

Will this be a quick romp in the water, or will it turn into something more when Mackenzie finally gets below Deck?

Mackenzie and Declan meet when her father, her stepmother and stepsister all go aboard a yacht for 10 days on a vacation through the Caribbean. Mackenzie knows things with her father's finances are dire and has been attempting to ascertain what is happening for the last 6 months. Her father has shut down all attempts by her to discuss it and just puts his head in the sand and pretends not to know his new wife and her daughter and spending his money like water. Declan the rude behavior of Mackenzie's step-family and paints her with the same brush stroke. He doesn't bother to find out that she is not a spoiled entitled princess but someone who pays her own way, shops at Target and is very unhappy with her stepmother and stepsister and is nothing like them. Declan puts his foot in his mouth on several occasions and Mackenzie is left either hurt or devastated by his words and actions at points. Declan had some growing up to do and needed to realize that, although having a dream and going after it is a good thing, putting blinders on to any other sort of life is just unrealistic. Mackenzie and Declan can't fight their attraction to each other and Declan handles it poorly several times. Mackenzie also chickens out on owning her feelings and both of them suffer from lack of communication and unwillingness to speak their mind. A vacation fling quickly turns into more but neither one of them will admit it fully to the other. I did enjoy the push/pull and how Tara Sivec was able to keep the story interesting. The ending was well done and quite a nice spin on how we find out how it all turns out. I really enjoyed this book.

Once again, Tara Sivec does not disappoint! It's a great fun read that goes way too quick, and really makes your heart flutter! It has humor, it has some angst, and boy is it steamy! Declan and Mackenzie's story is great, and will catch your attention, and keep you up all night to finish!

Such a cute, fun read. Just the right mood to put me in the summer frame of mind! When we first meet up, Declan has a love/hate relationship with his job. He loves getting to travel, but hates having to deal with snotty rich people. This cruise sets off just like every other one, that is until he meets Mackenzie. While she may fit the bill of everything Declan hates, he can’t deny the pull that he feels to her. Declan knows that Mackenzie is off limits, but it turns out, she just might be what he needs. Will Mackenzie and Declan give in to the sparks that are firing between them? There is only one way to find out… Below Deck was a quick and easy read for me. It’s the kinda book that is just fun to get lost in and has you lusting for your own vacation getaway. The characters are super enjoyable and easy to connect with. The chemistry between Declan and Mackenzie is intense and one to watch out for. The two of them have excellent pull and while they couldn’t be more opposite and had reservations when it came to love, a connection like their’s was destined to be explored. Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was a lot of fun, well written and a story that I just couldn’t put it down. I loved all of the love/hate moments and the sparks that flew. I thought this book had just the right mix of fun, laughter, drama, romance and of course, sexy good times. This is the perfect story to spend the afternoon getting lost in.

I have new life goals thanks to Below Deck by Tara Sivec. First, charter a yacht or at least tag along with someone who can afford to charter a yacht. Second, have a lot of sex on the yacht, in the yacht, around the yacht, on land where the yacht dropped you off at for a day. If my new life goals sound like something you'd enjoy as well then you need to read Below Deck! What I really enjoyed about this book was that it had a wonderful storyline. Declan is a hard working man who follows the rules and has his own unyielding yacht life goals. Until he meets Mackenzie. She's a huge distraction. But he's drawn to her and doesn't mind being distracted by her blue bikini. Makenzie has also been very busy in her life. A lot of unpleasant recent changes has caused her to be stressed at work and at home. She's not too thrilled to be going on the yacht with her family. Until she sees Declan, and then she can't stop thinking about him. He seems to help her forget about her stressful life, even helps her forget her name a time or two. Multiple times actually, in a row! Both characters see this as a great opportunity as a vacation fling, until real life and real feelings interfere. I don't know if this book could become a series but I would love to read more about Declan and Makenzie. It's a great book and I enjoyed reading it and I'm very glad I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I am so thrilled to have gotten a jump start at reading this book. This author never disappoints and Below Deck was not an exception to that rule. It is a fun, sexy romance with just enough angst to keep you turning the pages. This is Declan and MacKenzie's story and wow, do they have chemistry. The build up to that first kiss was craziness. Then Declan sets the stage for how the book will progress. A little background, Declan is this luxury yacht's boson. He has an intense dislike of the rich, snobby, and over privileged (basically those who charter this yacht). Mackenzie is the daughter of a rich man on his honeymoon with a woman Mackenzie is not so fond of. The couple brings the family along to "bond." Mackenzie has all kinds of chaos going on at home in addition to not liking the new step family and really didn't want this trip. She drags her bff with her to try and make the best of it. They both decide a vacation fling with different deckhands of the yacht will be fun. It should take Mackenzie's mind off the stress she has been dealing with. But things rarely are as simple as that and we get to sit back and watch the sparks fly. This is a stand alone with no prior books to read. It is fun, very sexy, and easy to read. I absolutely loved it.
