About the Author
Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bears books in 1962. Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike continues to create the delightful Bear adventures from his studio in Pennsylvania, in an area that looks much like the sunny dirt road deep in Bear Country.

Chapter OneThe Good Deed Scouts were walking down Main Street in Bear Town.
They were looking for a good deed to do.
"What's that I hear?" wondered Scout Lizzy.
"Someone is crying," said Scout Fred.
They went around a corner.
They found a little cub crying his eyes out.
"What's wrong?" asked Scout Brother.
"I can't find my mom!" sobbed the cub.
"Don't worry," said Scout Sister.
"We will take care of you."
"As the Bible says," pointed out Fred, "'I will search for the lost and bring back the strays.'"
"Good point, Fred," said Brother.
