About the Author

Stan and Jan Berenstain were already successful cartoonists for magazines and adult humor books when they began writing children's books. The first story starring the bear family, The Big Honey Hunt, appeared in 1962. Since then, more than 360 Berenstain Bears books have been published, and more than 300 million copies have been sold. What began as an idea sparked by their young sons' love of reading has become one of the best-selling children's book series ever.

This tale tells of how a 1st-born kid can adjust to the attention taken away from him or her and given to a new baby. It isn't perfect, since all 1st-borns react differently, but it is close. But, it teaches a kid how to behave with younger and smaller kids.

Brother bear outgrows his bed, and when his father makes him a new one, he finds out what will happen to his old one- a new baby will use it! They come home, and there she is! I was a bit disturbed by the fact that Mama Bear just had the baby while everyone was out of the house, and she was up and going- that's not quite how I'd prepare my kids for the coming event...

My boyfriend and I bought this book for his niece, Alanna before the birth of her baby brother, Aidan. She loves the book and reads itvto Aidan all of the time. She will soon be passing the book onto Aidan due to the fact that the family is expecting agsin, this time with twins. A boy and a girl; Ava and Aaron.
