Ms. Alexander has a deft way of throwing together two protagonists who have immediate chemistry and sparks but also big conflicts. She paints the Colorado wilderness with such skill that you can smell the pines and hear them signing in the wind. She shows the prejudices of the time period and how unjust they were. The theme of Beyond This Moment is that no matter how one ruins his or her life, God can redeem it if they only turn to Him.
