About the Author

Naisha Balay is a native New Yorker currently living in Brooklyn, New York. A female business owner, Naisha is a first time published author that has always been a storyteller at her core. She's always had a love for poetry and has often felt she expressed herself best when writing.

Writing was always a place of solace and a form of therapy, and self healing practice that she began taking seriously for the last five years. She actively wrote this collection during this time.

Realizing her purpose in life was to serve others, Naisha as an advocate for domestic violence awareness continues to be active in empowering young girls and women while encouraging self-love. While working on her writing, Naisha developed Beyoutifulgirl.org, with the mission of empowering girls to know their self-worth and encouraging them to love themselves.

She decided to publish her work with the mindset of being a role model for our younger generation to continue to work hard towards their dreams and goals. As an afro-Latina, she wanted to create a space for young girls, specifically girls of color to feel like they were enough. She wants girls to know that their beauty comes from within because there is nothing more beyoutiful than being you. On her pursuit of happiness she continues to following her heart and leading with her soul.

While walking in her purpose; she decided to publish her work to be part of the hero's journey so years from now girls from around the world know that we are strong, we are warriors and our stories deserved to be told too!
