Overview

Binary Witness by Rosie Claverton, Jasmine Blackborow

Police detectives rely on Amy Lane to track the digital debris of their most elusive criminals - when she's not in the throes of a panic attack.

After two students disappear in Cardiff, Amy uncovers photographic evidence that they've been murdered. From the safety of her computer, she looks through the city's digital eyes to trace the steps of a killer.

Amy's investigation requires footwork, however, and the agoraphobic genius can't hack it alone. She turns to her newly hired cleaner, ex-con Jason Carr. Jason is fascinated by both Amy and the work and can't refuse even when she sends him into situations that risk returning him to prison.

The killer strikes again and again, and Amy and Jason are the only investigators closing in on him. But Amy's psyche is cracking under the strain, and Jason's past is catching up with him. To stop the next murder, they must hold their unconventional partnership together at any cost.

Interesting lead and secondary characters. Cardiff, Wales is the locale for the hunt of a serial killer. The story is marvelously narrated, dialog is perfect. The main characters with their unique backgrounds and inventive ways of solving crimes could be developed into a terrific british TV series. I hope more readers pick up this book . I'm not into book series but I hope author Rosie Claverton writes another mystery with Amy Lane and Jason Carr. I'm so glad I found this book.

Carve out some time for both series books, Binary Witness and Code Runner, because you will not want to put them down. I consumed both on a single rainy weekend. The plots were well structured and fast moving with twist that kept me guessing until the end. Underdog primary characters you love to cheer for and don't need a contact manager to remember all the supporting characters. Looking forward to more...

Anger sparked in her eyes. "Bloodclan is dead and has been for awhile!" She let out a yowl, unsheathing her claws and looking for a cat to fight.
