About the Author

Author
Lisa Donovan is very good at looking out the window at birds. In between driving kids to activities and lending a hand to various non-profit groups, she gazed into the backyard for peaceful breaks. The more she looked, the more she appreciated the personalities of the birds in her backyard. This is Lisa’s first book, written to encourage others to join her.

Lisa grew up in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Grove City College. She received an M.A. in Professional Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. After working in communications for various companies and clients, she volunteers and looks out the window.

Illustrator
Dee Paras remembers kindergarten teachers trying to lure her away from the crayon table. All she wanted to do was her art - and she loved color! Later in life, Dee worked with sight-impaired children and learned to read and write in Grade 2 Braille. Her students inspired her to create simple images that were visually appealing. She lives as a creative, reveling in various media, from watercolor painting to collage to knitting.

Dee grew up in Green Tree, outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Grove City College with a B.A in Business Administration. She is pursuing her dream of being a children's book illustrator and working on art projects full time. This is the first book that she has illustrated.
