About the Author

Born and raised in West Virginia. A precocious alcoholic who
had his first drink of whiskey at thirteen and devolved into a
blithering idiot until the age of thirty-three. One who by the
grace of God laid down the bottle for good in middle age and
achieved the noble state of continuous sobriety for 40 years.
Undergraduate degree from Morris Harvey College, Masters
from Marshall University. A Licensed Professional Counselor,
Professional Poker Dealer, ACE certified Personal Trainer,
bartender, house painter, PADI Certified Scuba Diver with 130
ocean dives, award winning drug-free body builder, middle of
the pack distance runner, hesitant sky diver with only 3 jumps,
author of 2 novels Wild and Shell Point, mediocre poet with
2 other books of poetry from Barns and Noble-Verse In Trying
Times and Fred the Ant. An old timer with gratitude!

Editorial Reviews

The verse is a bit clumsy, but the story is makes up for the occasional stumble. An interesting tribute to an all too often overlooked noble people. A story of true kinship and common grit.
