About the Author

Curt's experiences in World War II and his subsequent research into various aspects of his unit's experience (and that of the units of other Vets he assisted) have led to his being held in high esteem by such notable institutions as the U.S. Holocaust Museum. In 1995, he was one of the six Liberators chose for the annual candle-lighting on the Day of Remembrance at the Capitol Rotunda. He was called upon to assist with the initial fund-raising campaign and did so with great success. Through the years he has shared his experiences with Universities, Colleges, Synagogues and public outlets, including magazines, newspapers and radio interviews. His oral testimony is archives with the Shoah Project and available online via YouTube.
Curt resides in Craftsbury, Vermont, together with his wonderful wife of 65+ years, Ruth.
