Part of a small demon lair in Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or 'anchor', is a guy who's rumoured to be the most powerful demon in existence. Compelling, full of secrets and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue.

The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed.

She's not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he's more dangerous than anything she's ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.

As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to being in control. He's also used to people fearing and obeying him. Harper does neither, which unexpectedly amuses him. Unpredictable, elusive and complex, she draws Knox and his inner demon like nothing ever has.

Knox is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He'll have her, and he'll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what's his. He won't allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make.

This book is amazing but more importantly this author writes the greatest paranormal romance/fiction I've ever read.

This book was great from the first page to the last page. Harper Wallis was just a simple demon and lived a simple life. When she goes out with her family one night all things chances for her because she finds her psychic mate, or 'anchor' that is a guy so powerful demon in existence(Knox). Harper try's to fight it and the demon because she likes to be a loner. Knox not only wants her as his anchor but he wants her in his bed and what he wants he gets. Now is the time to get the book to find out what happens to the people in it. I will be buying more from this author.

Title: Burn Author: Suzanne Wright Genre: Urban Fantasy Format: Ebook Pages: 301 Rating: 5 Heat: 5 Thoughts: I absolutely loved this book and had issues putting it down!! The uniqueness of having the characters be demon shifters and not always evil, LOVED IT!! It's so much fun finding stories that have new paranormal creatures and wondering why it hasn't been done more. Granted there are probably other stories (I hope) out there like this but finding them isn't always easy. Anyway, the romance part of this story is nothing really new but with the new (to me) shifters it added so much more. I can't wait to read the next book!! Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review. This book is must-read! Burn is a combination of sizzling chemistry, witty dialogue, great banter, two very strong, amazing main characters and awesome supporting characters! Suzanne Wright wrote such a fantastic love story, although Knox & Harper are totally different personality, like a couple they complete, brilliant, enjoyed reading their story! :) This book is must-read! :) *I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my unbiased review*

I can't believe how much I loved this story! I bought it because it piqued my interest and I'm so happy I did! I've never read anything from this author before, but now I'm looking forward to getting my hands on whatever she lets out. The characters were really interesting and it was a fresh take on Hell and demons. I'm excited to have a new author on my favorites list. :)

I am a big fan of Suzanne Wright, so when I was given the chance to review her demon series, I jumped at it! Burn definitely doesn't let you down, it takes you on a funny, sexy, and action packed adventure with Harper and Knox at the wheel. Harper is a strong, capable, and independent Sphinx demon without wings raised by her family of Imps. Harper’s little lair is located in North Las Vegas. Her grandmother is the Prime of that lair, Harper’s lair/family is known in the demon world for being a little bit crazy and hot tempered. Harper can be annoying, stubborn, and sarcastic, these are some of her best traits (in her eyes lol) Harper is ferociously protective of her friends and family. She doesn't scare easy and doesn't back down from a fight, after all she was raised by Imps and knows how to fight dirty. Harper doesn't date demons, she considers them to complicated and then she meets Knox... She's not scared of Knox but she's unprepared when he insists she's his anchor and won't take no for an answer Knox is a dangerous and powerful demon with a mysterious past, he is respected and feared in the demon world. He is the Prime of his lair (Ruler) and a complete control freak. He is not only known in the demon world but in the human world for being a handsome and successful businessman. He doesn't trust anyone but his sentinels and even they are wary of him and his true demon breed. His demon gets tired of female quickly and never met a female who resisted him until Harper... The story line is entertaining, funny and oh the Chemistry will leave you wanting more!!. Harper and Knox discover they are each others Anchors, the demons version of their other half, someone who stops them from going rouge and letting their demons take over completely. While most people would be thrilled, these two weren't looking for theirs. Harper is hesitant due to some abandonment issues from childhood plus she doesn't want to be controlled, she loves her freedom and Knox is extremely dominant and possessive. Knox believes no one can accept and match him but Harper intrigues not only him but his demon. As they figure each other out, they have to deal with pesky demons, dark practitioners, and ex lovers....plus someone is trying to kidnap/destroy Knox by going through Harper

I like the characters. I like that the author spent time on character development but didn't describe every little scene in minute detail, which is a personal preference. While another reviewer would prefer not to see the cursing, I was amused. Not very many authors let their heroines curse. It made Harper much more believable to me. A mischievous demon who doesn't curse? Simply not believable. Besides, I too curse like a drunken sailor on leave and still manage to be polite, compassionate and considerate. I think Suzanne Wright has a gift; it always amazes me when I get finished with a book and realize how well it grabs you from the beginning and flows through to the end. As for the editing, there is only a few of missed grammatical errors. I truly look forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this read immensely. I liked the characters and their interaction with one another. The story kept me guessing untl the end. I could have done without the cussing, though....personal preference. This promises to be another great series.
