About the Author

Captain Paul Eschenfelder has spent years entertaining and informing thousands of cruise ship passengers around the world. As a lecturer for a half dozen cruise lines he has spoken on a variety of subjects regarding regional history, culture and adventure. His forty years in the air around the world, plus years at sea as a lecturer, have found him bargaining with the Masai in Kenya, tripping over antiquities in Greece and Ireland, and benefiting from the spirit of ohana in Polynesia. A former lecturer at the University of Texas and adjunct professor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, he has served as an advisor to governments from Canada to Columbia and appeared on a variety of television and radio news programs. His written works have been published in a number of professional journals. He is retired as a captain for Delta Air Lines and a pilot for the U.S. Navy.
