AUDIOBOOK VERSION Another wonderful book by Katie Graykowski, and of course read by the wonderful Pam Dougherty. I just love her way of narrating, this series wouldn't be the same without her. As I've said before, she could read the phone book and make it sound interesting! I've really enjoyed all this series so far, but I think this is my favourite - so far anyway! I just love all the characters in it, nothing nasty about anyone, they're all quirky, sarcastic and so funny a lot of the time. The two main characters Laney and Devon are just so lovely together, she's a pediatric doctor and he's a big football player. They did meet at a summer camp when they were 17 but due to circumstances didn't keep in touch. Devon remembers Laney as she was the love of his life, but Laney doesn't remember Devon, even though she felt the same way at 17. Devon doesn't want to tell her as he wants her to remember on her own. There is quite a heartbreaking part of the story too relating to one of Laney's young patients, 6 year old Lara, who has leukemia but it was handled very well (but have a large box of tissues ready) - I just love Sweet Louise (Devon's mother) who spoilt her rotten while she was ill in hospital. Definitely a very happy/sad part of the story. If you want a real feel-good (mostly), funny book with some fantastic characters then this is definitely the book for you. There was such a really lovely emotional ending too. Katie Graykowski writes novels with such great sparky dialogue in them, you really can't go wrong. Every book I've read by her is a 5-star read for me. 'The Marilyns' series is one of my favourites, and I'm enjoying this series just as much.
