Haley knows how to take care of herself; after all, she's made a career out of taking care of others. But after an uncomfortably close call, Detective Steven Rothwell takes it upon himself to stay with her—and the young client she has taken under her wing. A protector at heart, he's not about to let Haley fight this battle alone.

In a sweeping plot that takes them into long-buried memories—and the depths of the heart—Haley and Steven will have to solve the mystery of Haley's past while dodging bullets, bombs, and bad guys who just won't quit.

I'm a huge fan of Lynette Eason's books. She never disappoints her readers. Chasing Secrets is no exception. I couldn't read this book fast enough, but at the same time, I didn't want it to end. The Elite Guardians Series has been thoroughly enjoyable. Each book in the series takes readers on a thrilling ride. The characters are amazingly woven together, the suspense keeps you guessing, the storylines have an inspirational touch of faith, and the romance is sweet. I don't know how Lynette continues to come up with new and imaginative plots rather than being predictable, but she does it expertly. This whole series is not to be missed. You could read Chasing Secrets as a stand alone, but why would you? Hats off to another gem from Lynette Eason.

Another great read by Lynette Eason. Sorry to see this series end, but I know there are more great books coming from this author. You will not be disappointed with this book. Faith and family woven into the story.

Audio book is really the way to go with this one! The reader had me so engrossed in the story that I walked an extra mile last night listening to her. I've never been disappointed in a Lynette Eason book, and Chasing Secrets was fantastic. Book four in the Elite Guardians series tells Haley's story. When an old photo leads a police detective in Ireland to look into a 25 year old cold case where three members of a family were killed and one little girl disappeared, his investigation leads him to believe that the little girl is still alive. Is it possible that Aileen Burke, and Haley Callaghan are one and the same? As an Elite Guardian, Haley is used to danger, but when bullets start to fly, and the body count mounts, can she and her friends protect those she's come to care about most? Detective Steven Rothwell has returned home to be with his parents as his dad struggles through cancer treatments. As a new detective in town, his first call involve Haley, and he's intrigued. Can he keep her alive long enough to explore the attraction pinging through his system? Looking at themes of forgiveness, and loyalty, Chasing Secrets, was un-put-down-able. It brings back all of us characters from the previous three books, and pits them against an evil that will keep you guessing until the big reveal. I will only say, I kind of pride myself on usually figuring out who the bad guys are. This one, I was stunned, had no inkling, etc. I definitely recommend. Of course, it's a Lynette Eason book. What's not to love??

Having read another book in this series, Elite Guardians, I just knew CHASING SECRETS would also be good. Eason knows how to write in a great voice, providing an intriguing plot unlike what is found in other books. This is a contemporary story of a woman who is part of the female "guardians." As a child, her family was murdered, her nanny snuck her away to a new life, and she has been assumed to be deceased. But the hitch is the classmate who now works on Cold Cases is investigating it, and wealthy Grandfather is supporting the search now, too. There is plenty of shooting and tough situations. Mixed in, however, is a brewing relationship between Haley and another cop who has returned to town to help care for his dad with cancer. It is Christian fiction, but not preachy. I suggest picking it up and reading it. Even if you have not read the others, it reads well as a stand alone. Afterward, though, you will want to read the others because the author writes in a captivating way.

I have absolutely loved Lynette Eason’s Elite Guardian Series. Chasing Secrets is book four and a great addition. I’ve read all four but it isn’t necessary in order to keep up with the story. Haley Callaghan is tough and very capable of taking of herself. She’s my favorite in this series because she’s also got one big heart for others. Her gentle compassion for Zeke and his family’s needs is touching and says far more about Haley than anything else she does. But it also is the catalyst for killers determined to silence her. I enjoyed the developing romance between her and Steven and of course, was rooting for them to be together. Lynette Eason weaves a steady stream of suspense in all of her stories and Chasing Secrets is no exception. A quick succinct review of Chasing Secrets is: It’s an excellent story, suspenseful, intriguing with a twist of romance.

This book is action packed from the first chapter. Lynette will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering who is guilty, what is going to happen next, when is this crazy roller coaster ride gonna end, and who will survive! Once more the members of the Elite Guardians come together to protect, defend, and take care of their own as well as others around them. Haley is compassionate and caring. I love her attitude about life, and the way she enjoys doing things for the less fortunate and helping them overcome, because she understands where they're coming from. There's a pretty cool twist to the story involving Haley's background, and I loved watching it all play out. Steve, a cop, recently moved to town is a pretty cool guy too! He shows up just in time to jump into the action with Haley. Will he stand the test? Both of them have past memories to unlodge and deal with. I enjoyed how their story begins with a spark but doesn't over ride the suspense and mystery, instead its slow steady background progress. The message of forgiveness, mercy, and grace is all over this book, focusing on various characters. Lynette did an awesome job of adding it, but not preaching it. It flows smoothly throughout the story as the characters take time to process what has happened and is happening to them, along with their feelings and emotions. Forgiveness is not easy or natural. The book ends with an unexpected twist! It's definitely worth the read, as are all the books in this series. It can be read in order or as a stand alone. I was blessed with a free copy of this book from Revell to read. I was not required to review this book positively and all opinions are my own.

This series just gets better and better. I love learning more each book about all the characters in the Elite Guardians. This one has Haley in it and we get to learn more of her background. There are many twists and turns through this story. I received this book through Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

I have loved this series and couldn't wait to read this book. It did not disappoint. And this is one book that I was totally unprepared for who the "bad-guy" was. I didn't see that one coming and normally by the end I have a good idea. The romance was also nicely done in this book. It wasn't forced but very slowly built throughout. The theme of forgiveness is huge and something we all have had to deal with in some way in our lives. Haley and Steven both have to take a step toward forgiveness and it's not easy. Overall, this was a great book that I couldn't read fast enough. Can't wait for Lynette's next series. A copy of this book was given to me through the publisher. All opinions are my own.

We have now come to Haley’s story in this impressive and my favorite romantic suspense series with a truly unique theme- a group of bodyguards made up with some really tough women, with the exception of Charlie the only male team member. This was another jam packed, action and adrenaline filled episode of the Elite Guardians. I have read this series from the start and each story is unique with the very high value of the team and their familial like relationships with each other. Haley, in my viewpoint, was always ready to do what was asked and no matter the danger stepped in. We get to have her story this time and what makes her tick. Hailey’s love for the underprivileged kids and her wanting to keep them off the streets giving them opportunities for a better life really gave a softer edge to her tough as nails personality. She has always been the team member with the secrets that surrounded her. We finally get to know those secrets along with uncovering Haley’s past that she was not entirely aware of. There definitely was a lot going on and along with Haley, the mystery really kept us all on our toes with all these threads that seemed unrelated yet Haley had to watch her back at all times. We also get to meet Steven, Quinn’s new partner and a possible love interest for Haley, who is dealing with deep issues concerning forgiveness and hate. I have highly enjoyed this series and I wish this was not the end. I hope that in the future we get Charlie’s story and I bet the new bodyguards have some interesting tales to tell as well. Kudos to the design team on these amazing covers; they are my favorite for a suspense series. So much personality packed into each one. I received a copy of this book for free from Revell. I was not required to give a positive review and all views and opinions expressed are my own.

Lynette Eason does not disappoint! ---------------------------- Chasing Secrets, the final book in the Elite Guardians series, is filled with action packed, thrilling, edge of the seat scenes intertwined with an easy flowing romance between the main characters, body guard Haley Callaghan and police detective Steven Rothwell. There's danger, intrigue, threats, compassion, kindness, hop, love --I felt a whole gamut of emotions through the characters in this novel. I highly recommend this book (and series) for fans of the romantic suspense genre. --Mrs. Bookworm's review. [Disclosure: A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for review purposes.]

Haley has vague memories of her past, but her mother discounted her nightmares as just dreams and Haley has moved on from her past. Now her past is threatening to kill her and Haley is struggling to stay one step head of the killer and keep those she loves safe. Steven moved home to be near his deathly ill father. When he meets Haley he feels an instant connection that has nothing to do with her beauty or position as a body guard. He joins the race to find out her secrets in time to save her. I've enjoyed all of Ms. Eason's books, but I think this one was my favorite. The book begins with a dramatic start and doesn't let up the entire book. It brings all of the other characters from previous books into the plot, but could definitely be read as a stand alone. I would recommend reading the others first though. You won't be disappointed. The author has a way with words that bring out the suspense and drama of the moment. She's also good at the romance part. The chemistry was great with the two characters and fit well with the story. Loved this book and can't wait to get her next one. I received a copy of this book from Revell Reads. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Intensity. Suspense. Thrilling Romance. Lynette Eason's final Elite Guardians novel has it all. When I open a novel by Lynette Eason I take a deep breath, knowing it may be a while before I take another one, and Chasing Secrets definitely stretched my lung capacity! Eason immediately plunges the reader into the emotion and danger of this story and doesn't let up until the final page is turned. Each time I endeavored to stop at the end of a chapter, I found it impossible to set it aside. Filled with characters I either liked or suspected (sometimes at the same time!) as well as unrelenting action and a decades-old mystery, Chasing Secrets kept me up until the wee hours. I'm usually pretty good at sniffing out the culprit but Eason surprised me once again. A phenomenal finale to an outstanding series, I heartily recommend it as well as the previous (standalone but connected) novels. Chasing Secrets is a great way to wind down your summer reading list! Chasing secrets can be exhausting, but Chasing Secrets by Lynette Eason, Book 4 of the Elite Guardians series is thrilling and exasperatingly good. So good, I wish there was more. Ever since I read the first book, Always Watching, I've been intrigued with Haley Callaghan. She's tough, smart and loyal. Her compassion for the underprivileged and homeless drives her. In this book, we get to understand her on a broader level. Her past, her hurts, and her loves. She is tenacious, strong and o so funny with her Irish brogue. I really loved reading about her. The first reaction doesn’t compare to getting to know her in her very own story! And detective Steven Rothwell backs her up. I also enjoyed the girl comraderie we see with the rest of the group at Elite Guardians. I love seeing repeat characters back. The team spirit has such a strong presence with a great message for fellowship. Speaking of message, the message of forgiveness, not only of others but of self really hits home. Satisfying in its plot and closure for the group, but giving hope for the future. In all, Chasing Secrets hits all the right notes with suspense, romance, characters and a strong message. I will miss the Elite Guardians but will look forward to the author's new series, Blue Justice, coming 2018. Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

Chasing Secrets is another great addition to the Elite Guardians series. Filled with lots of action, interesting characters, and compelling backstories, it is a novel that can be picked up and enjoyed even if you haven’t read the other books in the series. Haley and Steven were intriguing characters, especially Haley. I’ve been wondering about her past for some time now and it was very eye opening to find out more about her. The author did a good job of keeping me in suspense about who the villain was. I had my ideas about it, and I was close, but she did surprise me. It was also great to revisit the other characters from the previous novels. This story is fast-paced and a the series is a definite must for fans of suspense. I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

WOW, excellent book. This is why Eason is one of my favorite authors in this genre. Expertly written, Eason is a master of plot development, The book is fast-paced, the characters are well developed and realistic. Characters from the previous books in this series are brought in, making it a delight to read. It has a couple of subplots to provide more realism. A good read all around. Now I'm looking forward to her next book in a new series (Oath of Honor from the Blue Justice series).

I was not ready for this series to be over! Eason created an amazing team of women I wish I could be friends with. There was just the right amount of suspense with romance mixed in. I was intrigued to learn more about Haley and her secretive past. Chasing Secrets is the fourth book in the Elite Guardians series. I have read and loved the whole series, but also think you can read this book as a stand alone. The Elite Guardians are a group of women with many different skills and talents. They serve as body guards, and protect each other along the way. They are good at what they do, so good that sometimes they become targets themselves. Haley has had the feeling she is being followed for a while now. Not knowing who is behind it is driving her crazy. But it seems that no matter what she does, her enemy is one step ahead of her. When Haley learns more about her past, the suspect list grows to include people as far away as Ireland. Can someone want her dead because of a family she doesn't even know? Or could it be that she made a new and deadly enemy all on her own? Steven has a job to do, and sometimes it involves protecting someone who doesn't want protection. Can Haley see beyond the circumstances and capture a love that just might last? I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense. I enjoyed getting to know Haley better and learning about what made her who she is. I felt the romance progressed nicely and didn't feel forced. The danger around every corner kept me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. I loved seeing Haley's caring side and felt her love for the teenagers she helps. I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishers. I was in no way forced to post a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.

A chilling cold case, a long lost family, the start of a swoony romance, and bad guys behind every page - this story is one wild ride! Haley's story is finally told, and I have to you, it's staggering! I really want to say more, but I don't want to give anything away, so you'll just have to read the book. *winks and grins* I have always loved the long lost family trope, and this story is no different. While Haley's story really thrilled me, Steven's spiritual story touched my heart. Through Steven's heartbreaking tragedy and some wonderfully veiled references, Lynette Eason shows readers how forgiveness can lead to a new heart. I liked that Haley and Steven's romance was slow because otherwise it would have felt too fast for me. By the end of the overall story, they were just starting to date, and an epilogue gave me the Happily Ever After that I love so much. Four Stars - An excellent conclusion to an exciting series! Chasing Secrets is the fourth and final book in Lynette Eason's Elite Guardians Series, and I think readers will be very pleased! Chasing Secrets is its own independent story, and very few references are made to the previous books, so readers will not be confused if they consume the stories out of order. I received a copy of Chasing Secrets by Lynette Eason from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group. All opinions expressed are my own.

"Chasing Secrets" by author Lynette Eason is part of her Elite Guardians series. Haley Callaghan is a bodyguard with the Elite Guardians.  Haley finds herself in danger when she is tied to a cold case when a picture leads to her. But Detective Steven Rothwell has decided that he is going to keep her safe. What happened to Haley so long ago that her life is now in danger? This book is the kind that keeps you so interested that you cannot put it down until you finish it. I really enjoyed every page. I give this book a 5/5. I was given this book by Revell Publishing Company and all opinions are mine.

** “I just have to focus on the fact that God is perfect and sovereign in every way. And that in the end, he will serve justice to those who deserve it. It’s my job just to believe that. And trust it.” ** Lynette Eason wraps up her Elite Guardian series about a group of female bodyguards with “Chasing Secrets,” which takes on the story of the mysterious Elite member Haley Callaghan. Haley has a heart of gold and always jumps to help those in need, especially troubled teens. When she gets pulled into the lives of 16-year-old Zeke Hampton and his sickly brother Micah, her life is forever changed. Add to that an abrupt introduction to her past, much of which she doesn’t remember, learning about her connection to the powerful and lucrative Burke family in Ireland, and Haley’s life is suddenly thrown into a tailspin. And on top of everything else, she finds herself a target in a very dangerous game, one in which she doesn’t even know who the players are. Detective Steven Rothwell has returned home to South Carolina to be near his dad who is sick with cancer. When his series of cases begins to intersect with Haley’s situations, he is quickly drawn into her world, becoming intrigued by and attracted to her. “Chasing Secrets” is a novel full of twists and turns, leaving you to guess who is after Haley. But it is also much more than just a romantic thriller. Haley herself reminds us to always be a haven of hope to others, and helps us think about the true definition of family. This story shows us the importance of forgiveness and not letting hate take root in our lives and to find contentment, peace and acceptance instead; we can’t change the past, but we can use the past to help others in the present; God, through his infinite grace and mercy, offers perfect justice; and the possibility of but difficulty in overcoming betrayal. A huge theme throughout “Chasing Secrets” is having a new heart — both literally and figuratively. Eason knows how to add just enough romance to her thrilling tales, and she did it again with “Chasing Secrets.” She is an expert at writing amazing characters who draw you in. Although this story delves more deeply into Haley’s story, readers will recognize many other characters from the prior novels, including Haley’s fellow Elite team members. My only “complaint”? It’s the final novel of the series. Five stars out of five. Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, provided this complimentary copy for my honest, unbiased review.

Lynette Eason's, Chasing Secrets, was published by Revell. In exchange for my honest opinion, I was given a free copy of the book. It is the fourth book in her series Elite Guardians. Do you love adventure, mystery, and twists? Then this book is for you. From the beginning chapter to the end you think you know what is gonna happen then something surprises you. I love books that capture my attention like this I love reading. For me fiction books, can oftentimes be unsure territory as they can be a little to grotesque and some very sexual, with foul language. So for me, I loved how Lynette Eason has written this book, she keeps it clean and still leaves you never wanting to put down this book. I would recommend this book to the reader who loves a mystery plot line, spy/undercover books, and even those who like a little twist to romance. Even though this is the fourth book in the series, you didn't have to have read the previous ones to understand what was going on. I hadn't read anything by Eason before and after completing this book have added her to my authors to look for, I also went back and purchased the beginning of this series.
