Overview

Elizabeth Kay Richards is a conservative twenty-five-year old who does her best to hide her insecurities behind a smile. Abandoned by her mother and abused by an ex, she searches for meaning. But a series of increasingly strange events, starting with being stalked by a large sickly dog and receiving an ominous warning from beyond the grave, will forever change her and the world around her.
Jason is quiet, brooding, and seems to have a permanent scowl, but when he looks at Liz, the heat in his bright blue eyes makes her feel things deep in her soul that she didn't know existed. When a new menace tries to come between them, he asks her to unconditionally accept his way of life and join him as a Chosen One in his magical realm, but is it real, or is she merely under his spell?
When hellhounds plague the college town of San Luis Obispo, Liz encounters danger and loss. Her friends slowly reveal mysterious secrets, shattering her world and opening her eyes to an astonishing new one. Will she refuse Jason and stay with her friends, in a place she considers home, only to face real, but potentially deadly threats, or will she take a leap of faith and join the man she thinks she loves, in a noble but potentially lonely life, one from which she may never return?

About the Author

J.Y. Olmos has always loved to read and enjoys everything, from fantasy and science fiction to mysteries and crime dramas. Writing became part of her life when her brain refused to turn off once she finished reading a book and the lights turned out.

As a teen, she suffered from nightmares that often resulted in insomnia. Her mother told her to write her dreams down and change the ending into something less scary. Well, that’s exactly what she has done. Her stories are the culmination of a lifetime of dreams, changed and amended to a satisfactory ending.

She lives in Southern California with her husband, their two cats, and, of course, their teenage daughter, to whom she now gives the same advice: “Write down your dreams and turn them into a fascinating story.”
