About the Author

As a little girl I loved to create fantasy worlds and then give all my friends roles to play. Of course, I was always the heroine! Books have always been an escape for me and brought me so much pleasure, but it didn't occur to me that I could possibly be a writer for a living until I was in a career that was not my passion. One day, I decided I wanted to craft stories like the ones I loved, and with a great leap of faith I quit my day job and decided to try to make my dream come true. I discovered my passion, and I have never looked back. I feel incredibly blessed and fortunate that I have been able to make a career out of sharing the stories that are in my head! I write Scottish Medieval Romance, Regency Romance, and I have even written a Paranormal Romance book. And because I have the best readers in the world, I have hit the USA Today bestseller list several times.

When she slips and falls on the ice Liam comes to her aide, and there is an attraction between them that cannot be denied. Will Cecelia be able to form an attachment with someone that she believes to be in bad financial straits? Not if her mother has anything to say about the matter. When an previous wealthy suitor beckons to her again will she go to him? Read this charming and totally enthralling story to find out what happens. It has a wonderful blend of humor, emotion, romance and drama that will draw you in and keep you there right up until the end. Very well-written story, very likable characters! Another great installment from a very talented author.

Miss Cecila Cartwright fell out of the good graces of the ton, and her mother wants nothing more than for her to earn her way back in and marry well. Cecilia, however, struggles with wanting to please her mother and help their finances, after meeting handsome and rugged Laird Liam MacLeod. Liam, visiting London from his homeland of Scotland, is happy to be free of the lasses back home who watch his every move and try to make him their husband. Cecilia, knowing nothing about Liam or his wealth, finds herself falling for Liam. He, in turn, is enticed by her beauty and finds it refreshing that she doesn't want him for his wealth. But will love be enough to bring this couple together? Or will the fact that Liam hides his wealth and Cecilia's need for a financially stable marriage keep them apart? This is book three in the Highlander Vows series by Julie Johnstone. It was a delightful Christmas story, with the most romantic and tantalizing scene under the Christmastide kissing ball! While I suggest reading the first two books as well, you can pick this one up to get you into the Christmas spirit! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review. 3.5* Christmas in the Scot's Arms gives us exactly what it promises. It starts quickly (with a hundred and few pages you can’t expect it to have a long courtship), with a lot of tenderness and loving scenes. Cecelia lives in a complicated situation, where she must think not just about herself, but also about her mother, and how to keep them away from poverty. Because her mother has already been in that sort of situation, she pressures Cecelia into marrying well, which means to marry someone rich. She connects this wealth with her happiness, as well as her daughter’s, even though those two are not the same, and therefore not true. Cecelia randomly meets the Scottish lord (laird if you want) Liam MacLeod and their connection is instantaneous. To help this, his sister is also present and becomes an interesting character that helps them get together. Their connection is nice and I liked seeing how Cecelia fights to keep herself faithful to her principles and how she ends up understanding Liam’s reasons for acting the way he does at the end of the book. My favourite part was the stroll and the ice skating. It was so well described that I could visualize the scene entirely and I love episodes in the snow. In conclusion, a nice, small book, that provides us with a pleasant reading.

'Christmas in the Scot's Arms' by Julie Johnstone is book three in the "Highlander Vows: Entangled Hearts" series. This is the story of Miss Cecelia Cartwright and Laird Liam MacLeod. This is actually my first book by Ms. Johnstone so for me this was a standalone book. In addition this book is about 120 a easy and sweet read! Cecelia is having to deal with the lost of her father and him loosing their money too. Cecelia's mother is trying to keep up appearances but with not money they have been letting go of the help and Cecelia has been picking doing the jobs instead. But her mom still wants Cecelia to find a husband so she doesn't want her taking outside employment. Sadly Cecelia was done wrong by her former fiancée...which lead to the town thinking badly of her. Liam has come to London to escape the ladies back home who have been trying to get him into a marriage. Liam thought in addition to escaping that he might find that the London ladies were different but no such luck. But he happens by a chance meeting with Cecelia that gets him to thinking maybe the ladies aren't all the same. Cecelia is under the impression that Liam is poor and that of course won't help her but she can't help the feelings she is having for him! This was such a joy to read...loved it! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Thank God it's over. I found it hard to believe this was written by the same author as the first two books in this series. I know it received some good reviews, but in all honesty l could not find one thing to merit even the one star I gave it. I have never started a book and not matter how torturous it was. The one positive was that it was very short. I consider it a very badly written short story. Now I will move onto the 4th book and hope the author will have returned to the writing practice that made the two previous books in this series a delight.

Excellent story of Liam Macleod of the Macleod Clan (book 1, When a Laird loves a lady: Iain and Marion) and Cecelia. The storyline is 500 years later involving Liam , a descendant of the Macleod. Great storyline ending to an HEA. Happy Reading! ****vrnb****

Loved this story and read it in one sitting! It's not often that an author gets me so invested in a story that is a novella. They normally feel rushed and unbelievable. That is definitely not the case with Johnstone's Christmas in a Scot's Arms. I loved every minute of it and didn't want it to end. If I would have a complaint about it, it would be that I wanted more of Liam and Cecelia!!

A good red

The first two books in the seriea were well done with a variety of complex characters that you get to know over the length of the novels. This "conclusion" to the trilogy is not even related except for the same last name of one character. It's a regency novella set 500 years later. I felt cheated. Should NOT be advertised as part of the same series!

A wonderful story! Julie has a gift for putting you right in the book. Her words flow beautifully across the pages, her characters come to life. Miss Cecelia has unfairly been shunned by the ton, but Laird Liam is a scot and they see things differently. These two characters are honorable, loyal to family, friends, and love with their soul. Julie Johnstone is one of a few authors who I'll buy a book by the authors name alone, without reading the book blurb. If you haven't read her books before please read this one, you'll thank me when you finish! I recommend all her books.
