About the Author

I was born in March of 1970 in, Vermont. Where I have lived, attended school worked and been a "geek" all my life. Who could have thought that being a geek, before being geeky was cool, would actually turn out to be an asset? I've always been fascinated with computers and science fiction. I remember being 6 years old and watching CBC Canada repeats of Star Trek on a small black and white TV. In 1977 Star Wars hooked me as a Sci-Fi / Fantasy junky. When I got my first computer a Commodore Vic20 my career path was cemented. Some of you may recognize me as Commander Montgomery Scott or "Scotty" from the Internet webseries: Star Trek New Voyages. As an actor on that series I have been blessed to work with some of the most premier names in science fiction. Their passion and skill has been like a Master Class in what great science fiction is about. I recently took up writing as a pleasure pursuit; because my job as the I.T. Director for an Intellectual Property firm has required more and more of it. I have several articles out that discuss various aspects of technology and how they intersect with IP. It wasn't hard to then make the jump to writing for my own edification. Along with this novel I also have a comic book series titled "Mars Vs Earth" that I have written and is being produced by Dragon Phoenix Media. In October of 2005 I married a wonderful women Amanda Shepard. This has greatly expanded my family as it was down only to my dad and sister. I now have a large extended family whose family tree includes such luminaries as Alan Shepard the first American in space. In my spare time my hobbies have been studying Martial Arts where I hold advanced belts in Kempo Karate and Judo and have had the honor of being promoted by O'Sensei Phillip Porter himself, former Chairman of the U.S. Olympic Judo Committee. I also enjoy collecting knives, amateur astronomy, and craft beer brewing (where I really enjoy the beer drinking part). Thanks for your interest in me and my writing.
