About the Author

D. Cagniant is Emeritus Professor at the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry, University of Metz, Metz, France. The author or coauthor of over 160 published articles and book chapters, she has been recognized with such awards as the Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur and Officier dans l'Ordre National du Merite, among others. Dr. Cagniant received a doctorate degree (1950) in organic chemistry and the Doctor es Sciences Physiques degree (1963) from the University of Strasbourg, Strasbourg, France.
