About the Author

Professor Ron Leigh achieved an HND and the Freshgate Prize from Sheffield Polytechnic, and MSc from University of London and a Doctorate in Control Engineering from the University of Cambridge. His career has been spent either in designing and implementing control systems for the process industries or in teaching and researching control topics. His current appointment is Professor Associate in Control Engineering at Brunel University. Previous appointments include as Director of the Industrial Control Centre at the University of Westminster and Head, Control Systems Research Laboratory, London. His publications include eight books and an extensive range of research papers.
