About the Author

I grew up 30 minutes from Chincoteague and spent my summers playing on Assateague Beach. My family and I now live in Bel Air and love vacationing with my parents, who retired on the island.

I obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1997 and a Master of Science degree in occupational therapy from Towson University in 2000. I have worked with elementary-age children in the Baltimore County School System for the past 18 years, specializing in children with autism and special needs.
