Cross My Heart by Katie Klein

True love can blossom in unexpected places. This is Jaden pretending not to notice. . . .

Jaden McEntyre and Parker Whalen are a wrong fit from the start. Jaden is driven and focused, Harvard Med School within reach. Parker has a past-a reputation-and the rumors about his mysterious habits abound. So there's no reason why, when they're assigned to work together on a project in English, they should discover they have anything in common, or even like each other, and they definitely shouldn't be falling in love.

As they bond over Edith Wharton's tragic novella, Ethan Frome, the "bad boy" vibe Parker plays begins to dissipate. Soon, Jaden finds herself shedding her own "good girl" image: sneaking around to be with him, confiding in him, and ultimately falling hard for this leather-wearing, motorcycle-driving loner who plays into the rebel stereotype.

Still, Jaden can't shake the feeling that there's more to Parker than he's letting on. He's hiding something from her, and discovering the truth means reconciling the Parker she's grown to love with the person he really is. Because it's possible that his life inside the classroom-everything Jaden knows-is one, massive lie.

First I have to say that this book is PHENOMENAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I want to say thank you to Jen for buddy reading this book with me. Lord I had so much fun texting back and forth about this book and the different things that were happening I could not put the book down and read it in one night. Jaden is a straight A student who does not get into trouble at home or school. She spends her time raising money for different causes. She has a great boyfriend whom she has been with for a while and a great best friend Savannah. Then Senior year is and all she can think about is getting accepted into Harvard college. So on the first day of school when she is in english class and paired with Parker Whalen she is devestated because Parker is the school resident bad boy and no one talks to him and he talks to no one. Now she is going to be forced to do a project with him and she is not happy about that one bit. Parker whalen the resident bad boy who no one knows but everyone talks about and spreads rumors because he is a loner. Parker is not happy either about being partnered with the schools pearly white angel. Jaden in everyone's eyes is perfect and they want to be like her. So Parker is less than thrilled about being partnered with her. As Jaden and Parker start working together they realize that they really don't know the true person that everyone sees on the outside. Parker is a great guy and has a sense of humor and is HAWT and Jaden is just now realizing that Parker is a good catch but she already has a boyfriend. Parker is finally seeing that Jaden does have cracks in her interior and for some reason she has decided she will share them with him. So he helps her see who she really is and helps her makes decisions in her life she would not have thought about ever. This story grabed me right from the begining and kept me on the edge of my seat. There are so many turns in this story with Parker and Jaden and all her friends and family that I DO NOT want to spoil it for anyone. This is a must read about love and loss and finding your true inner self and living life to the fullest. Jaden will discover her true self and make decisions for herself that will shock everyone around her. Parker will have to face something he thought would never happen to him and fight his way through it. In the end LOVE conquors all! Also check out this play list for the book because it has some great music: "Fix You" (Coldplay) "Never Say Never" (The Fray) "Possibility" (Lykke Li) "Half-Life" (Duncan Shiek) "Sideways" (Citizen Cope) "Long Time Coming" (Oliver James) "Secrets" (One Republic) "Mystified" (Rocco Deluca and The Burden) "Untitled" (Simple Plan) "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" (George Michael feat. Elton John) "They'll Never Know" (Ross Copperman) "Almost Lover" (A Fine Frenzy) "Gone Away" (Lucy Schwartz) "Slow Motion" (David Gray) "Fly Away" (Ross Copperman) "All We Are" (One Republic) "Someone to Save You" (One Republic) "Bed of Roses" (Bon Jovi) "Make You Feel My Love" (Adele) "This Year's Love" (David Gray) There's actually a lot of Parker in these songs. I think this is partly because I spent most of my time trying to figure out what his deal was. Or maybe it's because I developed a massive crush on him while I was

I was pleasantly surprised at the twist in the story...I might me naive but I did not see him being who he was (for sake of spoiling the book I can't say any more) I really enjoyed this!

Was just shy of Greatness This was one of the best books I have read in a while. But the ending for me just ruined it for me. I really didnt know what was going on when the big secret was dropped. I never saw it coming at all but it was so far off I diidnt believe it in a way. I thought it was such a cliche way to end the book and not original at all. It felt kind of like I was reading a silly romance. But in generall I loved the rest of the book. The characters were amazing and they felt so real, I could practically fill the tension between the two main characters. It was just such a great love story and I wish the ending would have been the icing on the cake but it wasnt. Over all I recommend this book to anyone, looking for a summer read!

Two nights, and it was done. I was caught after work today reading the book (via nook) in the parking by my coworker because I couldnt yet until got home. The plot was poetic. Well poetic doesnt give it justice. I loved the way every part on it was written. I didnt skip thru anything like I normally do when dialoge appears. I felt from everyone including the friend, parents, innocent bystanders. I recomend this book to anyone that can read, Einstien said "a man with no regrets has not lived". I feel that quote flows well with the story. Thank you writing such a wonder book. I hope I read more like this book in the future. (By you hopefully) This book rocked (cross my heart)

This was a great book! I enjoyed it so much, I read it in one setting! The story itself was very well done and the characters were likable. The theme was your average good girl meets bad boy and they work their way to falling in love. This story has a twist though and its a doozy that I didn't see coming. The ending makes this book worth the read!

This book was a great read, i read it really fast. The ending isnt like most teen books now a days where its simple and lovey dovey, the whole ending part is very out of no where you dont truly see it comming at all which really make a good book. I would recommend this to a friend!

I absolutely loved this book! All 1261 pages of it! I found this story very relatable and that it had a lot of great life lessons. I loved Jaden and Parker's personalities, even if they could get a tiny bit frustrating at times. You must read this book, because you will love it!! <3 <3

This is the longest book I've ever read and I finished it in a week. I love parker and his dangerous bad boy persona and how he collides with miss girl next door, jaden. A few nights ago I began where i'd left off the day before and found myself reading until 2 am. Very good book, with a so-so ending. Nonetheless, this is definatley worth reading.
