About the Author

The author has a keen sense of appreciation for sports, both participating and viewing. She played basketball, baseball, and field hockey all through college and coached young women's teams in baseball, volleyball, archery, canoeing, and backpacking. She encouraged many students to achieve goals in sports. Liz has been a teacher for 35 years and loves to motivate students in achieving good goals. A Tae Kwon Do champion friend taught Liz's second graders and four of those children went on to get black belts! With great enthusiasm, Liz enjoyed cheering for her students in organized soccer games after school. She became interested in football while watching games with friends who explained the actions on the field. Tennis was her favorite sport in high school even though she was often soundly beaten by her friend. Creating this crossword puzzle book has brought back many pleasant memories of all the concerts, award events and singing along h.
