Katie Reus is a pillar in the romantic suspense community and DANGEROUS WITNESS is another jewel in her crown! I really enjoyed reading Brooks and Darcy’s story! Brooks messed up royally and is doing his damnedest to earn back Darcy’s trust as well as protecting her from the dangerous situation she’s in. I wasn’t too fond of Brooks, especially since he was a big jerk to Darcy. Darcy is a strong heroine and I really liked her. She didn’t just cave when Brooks tried to get back in her good graces and she definitely didn’t shy away from the danger she was in, but faced it head on. This wedding planner has a core of steel! Even though I wasn’t a fan of Brooks, he and Darcy pared well together. The suspense aspect of the story was spot on. The villain(s) were diverse and unpredictable and the storyline was engaging. The secondary characters were supportive and entertaining as well. If you haven’t read a Katie Reus book, I strongly encourage you to do so. ***I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own***

This is the first in the series that I’ve read and while technically it’s a stand-alone novel, I probably would have benefited from having read the other stories. Reus does a pretty good job of giving new readers the info they need but I think that there are certain nuances and details that I missed out on. While I enjoyed Brooks as a hero, he was definitely everything you could want as a part of this elite unit of mercenaries – strong, tough, smart, and ruthless. He also loves Darcy with his whole heart … even if he did go and screw it up at the very beginning :) If I was Darcy I’d definitely have made him work for it a bit more but I also have to appreciate the lack of games and dramatics between the two. There’s hesitation on her part and a bit of groveling on his, but they do eventually figure it out. I also like that Darcy is smart enough to realize that this is something much bigger than she can’t handle on her own. She listens to the professionals and lets them help guide her. And speaking of danger, Reus sure knows how to crank things up. The action and suspense element of this story was balanced really well with the romance portion. Overall, an enjoyable read and some more stories to add to my TBR pile because I’m dying to get my hands on the other stories in this series :) *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Its strange how a misunderstanding can rip a couple apart. Sometimes making up is even better. Katie's books are ones that I start reading and can not put down. This was another. I enjoyed the storyline and the drama. Darcy walked away from Brooks because he assumed things about her. Brooks realized he made a mistake and wants to make everything right. Circumstances brings these two back together. Can they make amends and be happy?

Dangerous Witness by Katie Reus – is a well-written romantic suspense book in the Redemption Harbor series. This book can be read as a stand-alone in the series, as each book centers around a specific person – however I think that you would get more enjoyment from the book if you read the entire series. The characters are well written and for the most-part likeable. I did not want to like Brooks too much because of the way he treated Darcy. If he truly loved her and trusted her – he would have listened to her or at least allowed her to explain, not just make a accusations and then just walk away. He also should have realized that he was the one that screwed up without being told so by someone else. I think it was a lesson that Brooks needed to learn but I think Darcy let him off the hook too quickly. While Brooks does help Darcy out a bad situation and spends time trying to atone for his sins, he does so because Darcy’s sister is involved with a shady family – if I was Darcy I don’t think I would have been so forgiving. While not my favorite book in this series I would still recommend it.

Action romance at its best. Brooks Alexander made a huge mistake when he accused wedding planner Darcy Cooper of being paid off by his father. He thought he was doing the right thing, he thought she’d betrayed him, and now he’s paying the price. Now he knows the truth he’s willing to do anything to get the only woman he’s ever loved back into his life and back into his bed, for good. Although Darcy is still deeply in love with Brooks she is not going to let him back into her life with just an apology, he hurt her too deeply for that. However when her life is threatened and she doesn’t know who she can trust, Darcy turns to the one man she knows will be able to help her, Brooks. A fantastic story that had me hooked, action, suspense and romance with some truly interesting characters. A series I could definitely get behind. My only gripe, and this is purely personal, I’m not a fan of third person point of view so I did struggle in the first few chapters while I adjusted to the writing, however the storyline soon got rid of any doubts I may of had. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I liked Dangerous Witness. I think I liked it more, because it moved the overall plot. You see the undercurrent of what is going on with Redemption Harbor. However, the story focuses on Brooks and Darcy's relationship, kind of. Basically they broke up because his father was butting in, but Brooks was an idiot, and assume the worse. You know what they say about assuming. Anyway, Brooks still has feelings for Darcy and decides to check on her, which is totally normal. Okay, he realizes that is bordering on stalker territory. Good thing he does this, because he's able to come back into Darcy's life. Darcy isn't sure about him, because he was a complete douche about the breakup. However, she needs him when things get a little scary. Actually, Dangerous Witness is pretty low-key, and it doesn't get interesting until the danger level start rising. However, you see towards the end that something building, but your not quite sure. There relationship is pretty mellow. Plus, we have Darcy's sister's wedding that is covering for something sinister. Overall, it was an okay read. I hope the danger and romance gets a little amps up in the next books. I hope something is brewing between Nova and Gage. I mean there is love-hate tension between those two. Copy provided by author Rating: 3 1/2 Stars

This series just gets better and better as new stories are brought to life. In this one we have Brooks and Darcy with some past miscommunication that have stopped them from being together. As with all Katie's books, the drama that finds her characters will have you turning the pages so fast just to see what happens. Sometimes your gut knows best and you should listen as long as it doesn't stick you in the line of fire. Getting to see the other side of Brooks was very eye opening. This group of friends who are family stick together no matter what and help the innocent no matter how crazy. Great book and can't wait to see what Gage's story brings. Gifted copy for honest review

This is the 3rd book in this series. Darcy and Brooks had everything at one point but lost it. Brooks is still in love with her but had no idea how to get back to her. There was twists, loss, and needing to protect. To find out more you’ll have to read this book and you will like it.

Brooks made a mistake and broke up with Darcy without finding out the truth. Darcy is trying to get over Brooks but she finds herself in trouble and whether she wants him to be or not Brooks is there to keep her safe and to try to get her back. As Darcy goes about planning her sister's wedding, she overhear the conversation of a dangerous man and his destructive plans that are going to happen within a week. While they are trying to figure out exactly where and when this is going to happen, things start to go wrong for Darcy. She decides that whether she can trust Brooks or not with her heart, she can trust him to keep her safe. I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

When Brooks believed that Darcy, the woman he loved, chose a payout from his father over her love for him he accused her without giving her a chance to explain. When Darcy realized that not only did he not know her if he thought she was capable of such an act but he also didn’t trust her so she walked away. Seven months later she is arranging her sister’s wedding as she is a wedding planner. When she overhears something she shouldn’t her life is in danger and she approaches Redemption Harbor Consulting to keep her safe even if Brooks is part of the company. Now that he has Darcy back in his life, Brooks plans to use this opportunity to make amends for his lack of trust in Darcy but will she give him a second chance and will they be able to escape with their lives? This story is full of action and suspense but it also shows the power of love and forgiveness. It also allows us to catch up with the characters from the previous books which is always a good thing. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Darcy and Brooks have been dating for a while, when Darcys loyalty is tested. She doesn't fail the test but Brooks does. Finding out he was wrong, Brooks need to prove himself and earn Darcy's trust back. But now she is in danger and Brooks is the only one she can trust. Another brilliant book in Katie Reus' Redemption Harbour series, I can't wait for the next one. Which I guess will be Nova's and Gage's story.

Review: Okay, so Brooks is a dumb*** at the beginning of this book, but quickly redeems himself. Like the other books in the series is about the friends who run Redemption Harbor Consulting. This time it is Brooks story, as he tries to win back Darcy and keep her safe. The resulting story was action packed and super sexy. Darcy and Brooks do make a great couple, he is a stand-up guy and she does not take any of his crap. This is the third book in the series, but each can be read as a stand-alone, though I would recommend reading them all. Looking for a good romantic suspense, then give this a try. 4Stars *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book provided by the Author.*

This novel is the 3rd book in this author’s Redemption Harbor series. It is a standalone romantic suspense with an HEA. Darcy and Brooks were in love with thoughts of a happy forever on their minds. Until Brooks’ dad offered her money to disappear. Thinking she took the money, he cruelly breaks off their relationship. Months later he learns the truth from his dad…she never actually TOOK the money. Brooks knows he screwed up royally but will do anything and everything he can to get her back. But when she hears a conversation she never should have, can he and his partners at Redemption Harbor Consulting keep her safe and thwart a major threat to the town and its people? In the first two books of this series, we’ve gotten to know Brooks a little. (Don’t worry if you haven’t read the first 2 books…you really CAN read this as a standalone!) He’s UBER rich, super hot, and he’s been burned badly by someone he thought loved him in the past. He’s got major trust issues when it comes to his dad, too. But his dad is supposedly a changed man now, and they are working on their relationship. So it’s no surprise that he misunderstood the situation when his dad offered Darcy money to break it off with him. However, from the very beginning of this novel, you get that Darcy is as sweet and real as they come. So even in the prologue, I wanted to smack him for treating her so badly, even if he really is a pretty alright guy to everyone else! Thankfully they get everything worked out as all the drama unfolds. Of all the Redemption Harbor books so far, this has been my favorite. It just seemed to flow better and I felt like I got to know the characters better than in the other books. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed all the books so far (check out my reviews for them if you don’t believe me!), but this just seemed to suck me into the story faster, entertain me more, and surprise me with the ending a bit more than the others. I mostly loved how Darcy made Brooks really work to win her trust back, but when she needed him the most, she gave him her absolute trust to save her life. They just seemed more…real, I guess, than some of the other characters. NICUnurse’s Rating: I give this book 4.5 stars. The characters felt real, the story was pretty page-turning, and the ending was a bit of a surprise to this gal who loves to try to figure out how the suspense is going to unfold before the authors get you to the end. I think my favorite part was the added chapter headers, though! Some were deep thoughts, some were emotional, some were sarcastic, and some were just funny enough to make me laugh out loud. If you love romantic suspense, you’ll enjoy this book and will be looking forward to the next book in the series right alongside me!

Dangerous Witness is the first book that I've read in the Redemption Harbor series and I can't wait to go back and read the first two books. Dangerous Witness is the 3rd book in the Redemption Harbor series. Once again, Katie Reus finds a great balance between romance and danger. I fell in love with the series in book one and as each character gets their own story, I fall in love a little bit more. Brooks and Darcy are perfect together. I always like a second chance story and these two definitely had some unfinished business. As much as this is a romantic suspense story, it's also a story about family. These characters are building a family not only with their respective mates, but also each other. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

Another winning entry in the Redemption Harbor series! Seven months ago, Brooks Alexander pulled a bonehead move and accused girlfriend Darcy of taking a payoff from his father to walk away. Only now realizing he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, Brooks must figure out how to apologize and hope Darcy forgives him enough to take him back. Darcy was brokenhearted by Brooks’ accusation but was determined to move on with her life and focus on building a successful business as a wedding planner. While working on her sister’s wedding at the groom-to-be father’s house, Darcy overhears a conversation about a bombing and kids. Panicked and unsure who to trust with the information, Darcy’s nerves show while meeting with Savage and Olivia during their wedding consultation. Desperate, she tells them everything she heard and is relieved when Savage assures her Redemption Harbor Consulting can help. This suspenseful adventure reunites Brooks and Darcy as they, and the Redemption Harbor crew, work to thwart the planned bombing. And, just maybe, they’ll trust each other again for a second chance at romance. I love this series so much! While this book is a standalone, I highly recommend reading the books in order to fully appreciate the characters and their tight relationships. ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Brooks Alexander made a serious mistake. He walked away from the woman he loved. He thought she took money from his father. Now that he learned that she refused. Can he get Darcy back? I was disappointed that Brooks didn't give Darcy the chance to explain, but he redeemed himself by his dedication in protecting the woman he loves. Darcy is smart and likeable. She's a strong willed heroine. When she learns of a deadly plot she goes to Redemption Harbor and Brooks for help. I admired her courage. How many of us would face a criminal mastermind? Dangerous Witness kept me involved. I loved their passionate attraction. The combination of romance with danger and intrigue made a compelling story that I wasn't able to put down. Katie Reus is an excellent author and the Redemption Harbor series is action packed from start to finish. I received a copy of the book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again..Katie Reus is my “go to” author when I want a romance safe romantic read with an alpha protective, good guy hero. Brooks, the hero, didn’t break that trend, folks. I’m here to testify he wanted nothing more than to love and protect Darcy, the heroine. Unfortunately for him, he did a “not cool” move prior to the onset of this book that put him in the proverbial dog house. Darcy rightfully did not forgive right away. This book picks up from there, recapping, of course, what originally happened that tore these two lovebirds apart. With a much slower pace than I expected, this second chance romance slowly unfolds with a relatively long list of sub-characters and side elements centered around exposing one central life-threatening plot. We are also presented with what felt like introductions to more than one potential future main couples that will likely get their own stories eventually. Yeah, Gage, I’m mostly talking about you. I can’t wait to see that handsome hacker continue to get swept off his feet and give into temptation/cross lines with a fellow co-worker he considers off-limits. Though you’ll have to wait for it, some very detailed, graphic steamy scenes did play out here, as well. So, don’t go into this thinking this is a fade to black. They build up to it though as this patient hero wants the heroine to be all in when they intimately reconnect again. In summary, I enjoyed it though a few parts played out relatively convenient/predictable. However, there was enough suspense/drama I stayed fully engaged. As a lover of relationship angst/remorseful, groveling protective heroes, the storyline was definitely a good fit for this reviewer. Title: Dangerous Witness, Series: Redemption Harbor (Book 3), Author: Katie Reus, Pages: 300, stand-alone but part of a series, remorseful/alpha hero who regrets losing his girl, damsel in distress heroine, very steamy later in the storyline, no cheating, celibate during separation, no love triangle, no OM/OW drama, kidnapping, heroine is injured. Book 1 - Resurrection (Skye & Colt), Pages: 250, 7/11/17 Book 2 - Savage Rising (Olivia & Savage), Pages: 250, 9/26/17 Book 3 - Dangerous Witness (Darcy & Brooks), Pages: 300, 1/30/18 (I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. This is book 3 in Katie Reus's new series Redemption Harbor. It can be read as a stand alone but as the others are just as good as this one, I recommend reading those too! This one is about Brooks Alexander who is one of the founding members of Redemption Harbor Consulting. He owns the ranch where most of the other members tend to stay or spend an enormous amount of time. Darcy Cooper is a wedding planner that Brooks had dated seriously until he accused her of taking money from his father to leave him alone. All without ever asking or having a real conversation with her. Now he has learned just how wrong he was. He never stopped loving her and just hopes he can make it right and have her back in his life. Darcy thought he knew her better and it broke something in her when he said the things he did. She doesn't want to put herself through the heartache of being around him again since she doesn't think she can ever trust him again. Until she overhears something she shouldn't have and has no where else to turn but to him and his friends. I absolutely loved this book! This series has drawn me in and this book was definitely no different than the others in that regard. Brooks knows he made a mistake, and he is man enough to actually apologize and try to make Darcy understand why he did and said what he did. He is sweet, protective, and loving. And I loved him! Darcy has so much heart and she seems to wear it on her sleeve for others. She is such a strong person but without it hardening her and turning her bitter. She still has the courage to love others and to do what is right even when it puts her in danger. And them together? I loved them together! They are perfect for each other, especially once they work out their differences. I can't wait to see where the other books take us in this series!

4.25 stars--second chances and hope 4.25 stars-- DANGEROUS WITNESS is the third instalment in Katie Reus’s contemporary, adult REDEMPTION HARBOR romantic suspense series focusing on a tight knit group of friends who grew up together but now work security and Black Ops investigations for Redemption Harbor Consulting. This is former Marine sniper, millionaire rancher and co-founder of Redemption Harbor Consulting Brooks Alexander, and wedding planner Darcy Cooper’s story line. DANGEROUS WITNESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from several third person perspectives including Brooks and Darcy DANGEROUS WITNESS follows the rekindling relationship between former Marine sniper, millionaire rancher and co-founder of Redemption Harbor Consulting Brooks Alexander, and wedding planner Darcy Cooper. Approximately seven months earlier Brooks Alexander pushed away the woman he loved when his father told him he offered Darcy a two million dollar pay-off to walk away and never look back. Fast forward to present day wherein Darcy Cooper, while planning her sister’s upcoming wedding overhears a plot to blow up a local school. Desperate to find help, our heroine goes in search of the man she once loved. Enter Brooks Alexander, co-owner of Redemption Harbor Consulting. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and rekindling love between Darcy and Brooks, and the set up and take down of several men with criminal connections seeking vengeance against those who did them wrong. Brooks Alexander screwed up big time believing the woman he loved could be so easily paid off. Darcy never took the money but was never given the chance to defend or explain the events leading up to Brooks’ father’s proclamations. Hoping to rekindle their relationship Brooks works overtime to win back Darcy’s love but in doing so discovers that Darcy has been targeted by a very dangerous man. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including the men and women who work for Redemption Harbor Consulting: Mary Grace and Mercer, Colt Stuart and Skye Arevalo (Resurrection #1), Zac Savage and Olivia Carter, her daughter Valencia (Savage rising #2) and Valencia’s nanny Martina Cruz, Leighton Cannon, Gage Yates, Brook’ father Douglas; Darcy’s sister Emma, and her fiancé Peter Markov. The requisite evil has many faces with connections to the Russian mob. The world building continues to focus on the take down of the bad guys. There is no hesitation as is pertains to protecting the people that they love including using some questionable tactics to get the job done. DANGEROUS WITNESS is a story of second chances and hope; of vengeance and betrayal; friendship and family. The premise is intriguing and entertaining; the romance is provocative and intense; the characters are colorful, charismatic and passionate. My only complaint is the convenient and tidy conflict resolution to the slow building, story line set up as the Redemption Harbor team work together to prevent a series of explosions all aimed at vengeance for sins of the past.

This is the third installment in the Redemption Harbor series. It can be read as a standalone but it may best if the first two books in the series are read first. Darcy and Brooks had the perfect relationship, that is until Brooks behaved like a jerk and made the biggest mistake of his life by hurting Darcy in the worst possible way. Now it’s up to Brooks to atone for his mistake and regain Darcy’s trust and her heart. I didn’t think it was as fast-paced as the previous books but there is still plenty of action, nail-biting moments, and of course the bromance that I’ve come to love. Darcy and Brooks’ relationship kind of take a back seat here but not to the point where there is no romance. They have to work together to build the relationship back up but because of the threats surrounding them there is not much time for them as a couple, however when they are together their romance and struggles feel genuine. The dynamics and comradery among the members of Redemption Harbor is by far my favorite part of the series. The men can be all protective and imposing yet they have no problem asking for help, nor do they mind helping others whenever needed, even if it’s a life or death situation. We also get a little taste of what’s coming next for other members of the team what with a new blooming friendship that may become something else. This story was for sure a page turner and I recommend it to anyone looking for a complete package in the romantic suspense department. ***I received this book at no cost to me and I volunteered to read it; this is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***

Being a second chance story, much of this is about trust, can Darcy Cooper, wedding planner, trust billionaire Brooks Alexander, former marine sniper, give into her love for him. When Brooks finds out his assumption that Darcy took the 2 million his Dad offered for her to walk away he's just furious with himself. He sets a campaign to win her back. Darcy isn't impressed much by wealth and was insulted when his dad offered her the money. Then Brooks condemns her assuming she was guilty. His last serious relationship took the money you see. Darcy's planning her sister Emma's wedding to Peter Markov, also a millionaire but unbeknownst to them his wealthy businessman father, Semyon, has illegal businesses and associates with known mobsters. While at Semyon's home planning the wedding she accidentally overhears a discussion about a bombing by Semyon's muscle, Oleg Polzin, and the detective, Stanton Turner, she's met. She has no idea who to go to since the police are compromise with dirty cop. Brooks recommended his partner, Zac Savage at Redemption Harbor Consulting to useDarcy to plan his own wedding. He and Olivia quickly realize something is seriously bothering Darcy. He pries the information out of her and lets her know she's not alone, they have contacts and can protect her. The story moves along and they figure out where the bomb is and save the day. Semyon's got big plans. He wants to move to more legal business and kill his "boss" Alexei Kuznetsov who assassinated Semyon's eldest son and wife. I enjoyed how Katie developed and told this story. Seeing Brooks grovel and Darcy learn to trust was great. I really like second chance stories. After the last 2 books in the series it was terrific to get Brooks' story. I also liked seeing the interaction of the team gleaning information about the plot and gaining evidence on Alexei whom is the bad guy from previous books. I'll leave it to you to discover who lives and dies. I'm also not really sure who's story we get next in the series. I kinda think Leighton with his obvious familiarity with the FBI agent Hazel Blake. Then there's the company's hacker Gage and his super hacker "invisible" female helper. We will have to see. Thank you Katie for adding me to your ARC review team for my honest opinions.

His to Protect #DangerousWitness #2ndchanceromances Book 3 in Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor series brings us Brooks and Darcy. It’s their story of misunderstandings and a story of 2nd chances. Brooks made a severe grave mistake when it came to Darcy and he threw her out of his life but he didn’t have the right series of facts when he did it and in doing what he did, he let the only woman that he loved leave him. Darcy loved Brooks so much and when he threw her out of his life, it was as of someone stabbed her and took out her beating heart and replaced it with a dead one for that has been how she has lived her life since their breakup. Seven months have passed since that night and neither have moved on. Brooks made the mistake based on something his father did and now with him learning that the reason he broke things off between them was based on assumptions, and not actual fact , he is desperately trying to figure how to get back into her life and get things back to where they were between them before things went downhill. Darcy is busy with her wedding planning business and her sister's upcoming wedding. She wasn’t expecting to ever see Brooks again nor does she really want to but he showed up just when she needed him when her life was in danger. Although she is not ready to forget or forgive anything at this point. But things take an ominous turn when Darcy herself is a witness to something she should not have heard and seems to have had some threats made against her; she will need Brooks and his friends' skills and connections to help her make it out of this mess alive. Brooks is not only a rich rancher, but he is also capable as an operative. He is possessive, determined, and dominant -a man in love and fighting to win back the only woman he has ever love. That is a motive to make sure nothing goes wrong. Darcy has a lot going on in her life- she has her business, planning her sister’s wedding and she has the threats on her life plus her ex has come back into her life at the worst possible time. Yet she stays pretty calm, cool, sweet and rational. I loved the chemistry that blazes between Brooks and Darcy in this book. This brings back all of the characters from the first two books: Colt and Skye, Savage and Olivia, Mercer and Mary Grace, and also focuses on some of the other members of Redemption Harbor Consulting such as Gage, Nova, and Leighton. This story had a really great message woven thru- forgiveness, trust, and second chances. Ms. Reus has delivered a top notch romantic suspense read and I look forward to the next book in this series. My Rating: 4.8 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
