The Engelmann sketchbook provides an insight into the creation of two of Ludwig van Beethoven's most famous works: It documents Beethoven's final work on the Diabelli Variations and contains early sketches for the Ninth Symphony. The sketchbook is presented here for the first time in full transcription. The sketches are allocated to specific works and analysed.
